Title: 12" Corvette brake kit for 88s.

I have the 12" brake kit for 88s only.
It's pretty much a bolt-on. Uses the C4 rotors with stock 88 calipers and pads.
It includes the new style "dog bone" shaped brackets, that place the caliper in pretty much the same location as stock, only out further to accommodate the larger disks.
Also includes the old style "offset" brackets. (Not very useful, IMHO, but they're there.)
Includes four already drilled rotors, four centering rings, and the two complete sets of brackets and all mounting hardware.
You shouldn't need anything else. Just bolt it on.

I believe that it will NOT work with stock 15" wheels. Probably will require at least 16s.

The ONLY "gotcha" that I know of is that on some lowered 88s, the tip of the lower control arm will scrape the back of the rotor. The tip of the LCA may need to be ground or hammered for clearance.

I was going to install this kit on my car, but was made an offer I could not refuse, on the 13" kit.
Price is $350 for everything.

Edit - I remember hearing that the two types of brackets could be "stacked" in order to allow the installation of 13" Viper rotors. I've never seen it done, however. YMMV.

What size are the standard brakes on an 88?

I believe they're about 10-10.5, but I'm not sure. Don't have any stock rotors around to measure any more.

10.5" is right.  At least according to wiki. 

Will 12" brakes provide 1.00 - 10.5/12 = 12.5% shorter braking distances?  Instead of taking 100' will braking distance be reduced to 87.5'?

IOW, what are the expected benefits of 12" brakes compared to 10.5"?

Assuming that you can lock up your wheels with with your standard brakes, the bigger ones won't give you shorter stops initially. What they will give you you is brakes that stay cool through more stops, and prevent fade. So after a lot of braking (in a Run For The Hills, for example), you will get shorter stops than with stock brakes.

I will accept TopNotch's explanation.
I also understood that the larger rotor allowed the pads to apply slightly more mechanical leverage to the rotating wheel assembly. I don't really know all the math associated with it, but it's got to be an improvement.
That, and (as mentioned) the larger swept area that allows for better heat dissipation and less fade.
