You may not know, but a few years ago, the Georgia Fiero Club filed a letter of incorporation with the Georgia Secretary of State's Office, as a non-profit organization. The benefit of this was three-fold. It gives the club members a break on hotel rates and entry fees to many events, and in some cases, entry fees are waived entirely. Money raised by the club is tax exempt, up to a certain point. Incorporation protects the club members from liability, in the event that there are any injuries or accidents at a club sponsored event.
Club membership dues cover the calendar year, from January 1 to December 31. By becoming a paid member in good standing, you are entitled to the above benefits. You are also allowed a voting voice in the club, whether by absentee, email, or in person. You have a hand in the operation of the club and its events. If you know of anyone who might not be aware of our club, please pass this along. We also welcome non-dues paying associate members.
Yearly membership dues are set by the club charter at $25. If you would like to be a member of The Georgia Fiero Club for 2009 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 please send a check or money order to our club secretary at
The Georgia Fiero Club

Or you can pay your dues through our Club Merchandise section at the left of your screen. All who pay after the annual Run For The Hills will be given the remainder of the year plus the next year at the same price.
Membership decals will be mailed to you shortly after your dues are received.
Thank you

I just noticed that "Nembership" decals will be mailed... Interesting.
-
My desktop PC has crashed and is in the shop for a while. I don't have my files available at the moment.
Please post if you have paid membership dues for 2021 so I can get the listing to The Fiero Store for member discounts.
-
Wait... we get a discount? How do we get it?
-
Ask
-
So we have to call in our orders?
-
You can call or order online. What I submit now won't go into effect until January 1, 2021.
-
Just paid up, good for another year.

Sorry to read that. I have a suspicion it couldn't have passed a sobriety test, at the time.
-
Several things about the discount:
1. You can use it online
2. To use it online, you must log in, and the discount must be applied to your account
3. The discount does not apply to everything--just to parts they build
4. The discount for a club member is 5%
5. Once a year or so, TFS has had a 10% off sale for club members
6. You generally can't use the club discount with other discounts
7. Using the club discount over the phone requires that the discount be applied to your account
8. The discount only applies to the email submitted by the club
9. The discount only shows in your cart
10. The discount does not apply to shipping

It was something that even the shop had never encountered. I was updating my Med Alert bracelet. When I removed it from the USB port, it pulled out the little plastic piece that helps to ensure you orient your USB device or cable correctly. It apparently shorted because the computer blacked out and wouldn't restart. It blew the motherboard.
-
Hmmm. I haven't seen that particular thing. 5V shouldn't short out the board. I suspect it blew a capacitor.
Years ago, we used to send warranty systems out to be repaired. About half of the systems came back, no problem found, and the shipping package had clearly never been opened. Another 20% came back opened, but the issues were intermittent, so a brief test would never find the issue. So, I had a thumb drive made that would build up enough juice to fry the board, leaving behind no visible evidence. The thumb drive was red, so we called it "red-sticking" the device. The 20% started getting fixed, but that left me with 50%. For every system sent back, we were charged a fee. I put the systems aside, and never processed the charge. For months, systems accumulated. I could never reach the manager of the service center. One day, he came to see me about the bill, so I showed him all the returned systems. I had him test the systems his people said had "no problem found". The manager was livid. System after system was completely inop. Now, he knew as well as I did that his people were just flipping a coin on which systems to check, but he sure did not like getting called out. Since the service center couldn't write off the charges, he had to personally cover the charges. I made sure he did, by having the charges redeemed at my location, and I rung up the "sale" myself. Only thing was, I billed him at double what they would have billed us, basically charging him for charging us. Something like $7K. The items were then shipped back to the service center at their expense. Problem solved. The regional service manager agreed to cover the difference for the customers to replace their computers. The $7K I dispersed as gift cards for the customers who had had to deal with the service center's issues.

My daughter surprised me with a membership renewal as an early Christmas gift. I should be paid up for another year!
-
Paying up now.
-
I seem to forget the little things like paying dues! Remembered this year. Hope everyone else remembers.
-
Dues are on their way. Check should be delivered around the 27th.
-
Just did mine.

These are the current 2022 membership dues paid as of December 27, 2021. Remember that if you were appointed to an officer position, you must have paid your membership dues.
