I got my Fiero back today from the shop with the TH440 transmission in it. My speedometer is not working because I need a Fiero compatible governor assembly for the TH440. Going to try to find one locally; however, I'm reaching out to the Fiero community for help.
Here is a link with information on the swap and what I need:

From the article, it sounds like you need a governor from a Fiero tranny that has the same final drive ratio as your TH440.
-
From my understanding, I need the governor, housing, and sensor. The one in the 4T60 (TH440) is the magnetic setup, which won't work.
-
I may have found the parts. If they are right, I'll post part numbers and where I got them from should anyone else go through this.

I received the governor assembly and put it quickly onto my transmission tonight. I was glad to see the part fit. I ordered the parts from http://www.txchange.com (http://www.txchange.com). I paid $40 for the parts and $14.72 for UPS shipping to South Carolina. Their part number for the governor assembly is RK84410.

Does your speedometer work with the new part?
-
Yes, the speedometer is working. I just have to use my GPS to see how much off it might be.
-
Does it shift at the proper RPM?
I'm thinking that you can use your original VSS gear, and the speedo will be correct. Or as correct as it was.
I could be mistaken, however.
-
What is the proper RPM for it to shift at?
-
With a V6, foot to the floor, the 125 will shift at about 5500. Maybe a little higher.
