Title: Alternator comparison
Post by: GTRS Fiero on March 02, 2020, 10:05:59 pm
Of course, I don't know how my original alternator worked when new, but I have been comparing my original (working) alternator to a new alternator.  The new alternator spins more freely.  The question is, is this age, or technology?

I spun more freely when I was new. ;D

I'd go with the newer bearings in the new model, not technology.

In theory, my old alternator could be rebuilt.  I guess that'd be the way to test.
