yep, 200 bucks and a day of your time,  the car being an 88 is worth more than that and the engine is worth nearly that, if not that much.

Well crap!
I registered, and was going to comment, but there's a 24 hour waiting period.
This was the text of my comment...

GTXVette linked this to the Ga Fiero forum. I registered just to comment here.
As a long time Fiero guy, I have to say that if I had the room, I would be all over this. The L67 is a very popular swap in the Fiero community. They make stupid power, with simple bolt ons. (Smaller SC pulley and maybe a tune.) They are all over YouTube, just killing some very formidable opponents at the drags.
I presently own a Fiero with an aluminum block 4.9 Caddy V8, and I will tell you, straight up, that this car would blow the paint off of mine. The car itself appears to be a base '88 coupe (which is the perfect platform. I own one of those, too.) The only changes I would make would be the addition of a rear sway bar, if it hasn't already been added, and poly bushings.
Somebody buy this thing!

Where's $200 coming from?  Just the clutch?

I see $1000.

Or am I just skimming to fast?

Good morning!

My name is Paul, and I am the owner of this car. I'm new here (and appreciate GTXvette posting this for me). I had high hopes for this car, but life has happened, and I need to change gears.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have- most of the info should be posted in the GRM thread (which was linked earlier).

Again, thank you for your interest. I really hope someone can give this car the love it deserves.

BTW, the car is currently located in Columbia SC, but I live in South GA, and drive back every weekend (usually with an empty trailer). I will transport it back to GA free of charge (near I75).

I also won't make this year but that just means the Car will be well sorted out for next year.

Thanks Pat.
Sounds very tempting - maybe more so if I had more info & some pics. I really shouldn't spend the money on yet another car, but it's an '88 so...  ;D
I guess the webmaster on that site only codes for the latest browsers - the link just gives me an "connection was reset" error.

OK evil-tempting-dude, how many miles? Does the AC work (Doesn't look AC equipped)?  Do the lights go up and down? Any rips in the seats? Does the radio work? Do the instruments (speedo/tach) work? How are the tires? Dew wipes?  etc. etc, etc.

This is a great deal.  I just don't want to think it'll cost $200 and some valuable time to get it running, and then wind up fixing and replacing other stuff.

to be sure this is a formerly running 3800 w/sc for a Grand, the cost of clutch snd TO bearing could be 200 or less that should make it a driver. hell it probably needs lots of Small stuff.

Let me just say that GTXVette has probably summarized this very well.

I have never driven this on the street. I can't answer the detailed questions you are asking.

If you are looking for a perfect car (minus a clutch) for $1K, I think you should probably look elsewhere. If you are looking for a car that has been completed, sorted, and driven for a decade that is still a project, but a very good opportunity for $1K, then we are in agreement.

I just looked at the interior pic, closely. That's a "non-A/C" control head. Has two sliders instead of a slider and buttons.

Completely agree this is a very good opportunity for $1K.  Just want to know if I'll need to put in another $1K for tires.  Then another $500 for X.  And then another $350 for Y.  And then...

Pg,  85,  One Word  will solve these Questions, as ya'll are pretty Close.     ROAD TRIP !  and Free Delivery, that's the cost of a clutch and TO bearing right there.
I am glad he's selling it, that would have been a good show right there / A turbo 3.4 vs. a 3800 SC.  I'm glad 'cause I would have had my hands full with that one.

You're right.  Not sure our wardens wives will let us out on a trip that may result in another Fiero.

PM me your address and when you're available.

Tires have good tread. I'm not sure how you approach stuff like this, but I never assume tires on a project car are any good at all, especially for performance driving.  It's a bad idea. So, I would suggest new tires as a safety measure, because that's what I always do. But they have good tread.

I'd be happy to give you feedback on X or Y, but I don't know what they are unless you ask.

The car is in Lexington SC. The address is meaningless, because I will be relocating it in a couple of days. I am available most weekday evenings, and may be able to make myself available on the weekends. I suggest you contact me and ask, and I will be happy to make arrangements.

I`m trying to sell a 1987 fiero so I`m kind of pressed for space myself. I have a 1986 fiero in the garage trying to change the altenator and I have the 1988 coupe club car I`m working on when I feel like it setting beside the garage behind the blue 1987.

I WORKED FOR CLAY YOUNG (FACTORY FIERO TEAM)
TOOK A COUPLE APART SO WE COULD HANG THEM IN THE CELING FOR SPACE AND PUT A 400 SB CHEVY IN MY BROTHERS WIDEBODY, BUT THAT'S BEEN YEARS AGO.  I MENTIONED THE REASON I BOUGHT THESE C4 CORVETTE'S IS I WANTED A FRONT ENGINE FIERO. THERE ARE PLENTY MORE FOLKS ON HERE THAT MAY BE MUCH MORE QUALIFIED, THEY DIDN'T OFFER

                                                                        YET!

sorry I didn`t mean it that way I just don`t know you. I would have to finish my 1986 fiero to get the garage room , just a normal 2 car garage. I`ve bought a jack called a QUICK JACK but haven`t put it together yet. I don`t think it would be any help with a motor swap.
