Title: A Year on Planet Earth, As Seen from the Sun
Post by: TopNotch on July 27, 2016, 10:52:55 pm
Well, not actually from the Sun, but from a satellite directly between the Earth and Sun.

The NASA/NOAA satellite 'DSCOVR" (Deep Space Climate Obseratory) floats at the point where the Sun's and Earth's gravity balance out. It's earth-facing camera always sees a fully sunlit Planet Earth. NASA runs the camera that points towards Earth, and NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) runs instruments on the side that points to the Sun, to help predict "Space Weather".
