The PurpleHaze is displaying this symptom:
It feels just like you forgot to put in the clutch in a manual transmission as you pull up to a stop light and the car will sometimes stall. Shanine has to put it in P or N to keep the engine running.
Any ideas?

What happens when it's pulled back into gear? If the TCC has totally failed, it will slam real hard, often killing the engine. Of course, you can test the switch by unplugging it and see if the symptom goes away. If it's just stalling, is it possible that you may have an ECM for a manual transmission in the car? I don't know if a manual ECM would even work at all, but the automatic ECMs are programmed to kick up the idle when the transmission is engaged. I think it's about 150 rpm.

I know for a fact the the PROM is for an automatic.
I'll give it a try by unplugging the switch when I get home today.

Unplugged it and the car didn't stall.
I assume it's time for a new TCC solenoid? Or even the pressure switch? Or are they all in one?

The solenoid and pressure switch are two different pieces.
I have replaced the solenoid before. didn't bother with the pressure switch, although it's "recommended".
The pressure switch won't cause the problem, however. (Unless I'm mistaken, it will stop the TCC from locking at all, if it fails.)
It's just easier to replace while you're already in there.

I've never replaced one and I'm glad Shanine doesn't have a weapon other than that 'glare'!

How'd it go?
I found it to be at least a moderate PITA, with the engine out of the car. Never tried one with the engine in the car.

It's not to bad, just takes a lot of time to remove.
Did it on mine before the conversion.
If I can do it by myself and a Haynes manual anybody can.

All went well, Chaz was here until after 2 AM, so I finished it up today (just put all back together).
Getting the gasket on the side oil pan can be a bit tricky, but on the Duke things are actually quite accessible.
Stalling issue is gone and shifts nicely again.
However, new symptom showed up - intermittent stuttering while driving.
Chaz came over again to help Shanine and he has an eye for this, he found cause and affect - Yeah!
PCV valve was leaking oil from the valve cover down into the spark plug well of cylinder #2, which was causing it to arc!
All good again (for now)

Chaz brought a brand new set of spark plug cables for Shanine's car and all seems to be fine now, except for an exhaust leak and the AC compressor being bad, but we'll deal with that at a later date.
