Shanine and her friend were involved in an accident today. Her Fiero was rearended by a truck. Nobody was hurt and it wasn't her friend's fault (who was driving). ........ but the PurpleHaze was totalled.
Frame is warped and doors won't close anymore.
I'll post some pics of the damage later on.
Guess our daughter will be on the look-out for an automatic again.

The damage that drove tears to my eyes, but I am so greatful that nobody was hurt!

Holy crap!
I'm happy that they'e both okay.
-
Likewise! Glad no one was hurt.
-
So glad that Shanine and her friend are unscathed! That's what's important...

Yes, glad they're OK. The insurance company certainly isn't going to replace the car, though they're supposed to put you back to the same condition as you were before the accident. The best you can probably do is to buy it back from the insurance company and swap out as much of what she's done to another vehicle. Just try to find her a later model than an 84.

very happy no one was hurt and it saddens me greatly to see that happen to any fiero :( If there is anything i can do to help please let me know!
-
Yeah glad no one was hurt.
Are you sure the frame is bent? From the pics, looks like it may have just driven the rear clip forward.

Wow! glad she wasn't hurt.
From the first picture it doesn't look bad but then you look at the doors and you can tell it was hit hard. Car took it well though. Glad they even were able to open the doors from the way it looks.
That sux. Sorry Don

Yeah Jason, one of the major losses were the tinted tail lights from you. Guess I'll be knocking on your door again for another set! ;D

Bummer -- I'm glad they weren't hurt.
But it doesn't look too bad -- maybe it'll buff out. ;)

I am so glad nobody was hurt.
These are tough little cars.

Paul,
I truly do wish I had the funds right now to buy your Indy, everyone knows I want one. Not for our daughter, but for myself.
Our daughter also won't be getting those kind of funds from the insurance for her car, and she's looking for something non-84.
But thanks anyways.

Waiting on the claims adjuster to see how much Shanine will get.
Roger has offered his 88 GT automatic for her to buy, so we need to wait and see.
BTW: His 88 GT is running again! ;D

sad to hear about the car, :'( .. glad no one hurt

Insurance Claims Adjuster just left, agreed that it is most likely a total loss. Will get prices from the internet for comparable Fieros within a 50 miles radius to give Shanine a decent price by EOB today or tomorrow AM. Keeping our fingers crossed for our daughter.

Close to tears in her eyes, Shanine watched her first car get hauled off to the crusher today.
Although she has stripped the car of most useable items, I could tell it hurt her to see it go.
But on the bright side, she's got a decent 88 GT auto that she bought from Roger, so she should be happy again fairly soon.
Still needs a little work and some TLC, but should be roadworthy within the next 2-3 weeks.
Right now it's at Tires Plus to get new rubber on it and have the rotors turned down and new pads.
Again, to my bewilderment, Shanine is footing the bill on everything, which does make me proud (and is easy on my wallet ;D ).

I hate to see something like that happen, but definitely glad nobody was hurt.
