Can you describe what happened? Maybe it's fixable.

i was heading home and i notice my temp gauge was a little high, but not in the red. then i look in the rear view and noticed a light smoke trail, i also noticed that i was holding rpm's but losing speed on a flat plain. i turned the radio down and heard all kinds of noises. i pulled on to an exit and when i let off completely she died. i didn't even get out of the lane completely. i popped the deck lid and the front and let it cool. when i tried cranking it, i could hear the starter turn then stop as though the gear was binding.

Holding RPM's but losing speed? Does the car have an automatic transmission?

Replace the head gaskets and change the oil. But first remove all the plugs and get someone to crank it over to see which head blew and to make sure the engine still turns over. You probably filled the cylinder with water and caused it to lock down.

btw, he has a 3.4L, tranny, on a cradle for sale( at least until he gets time to put it in his car). it's perfect, i even saw it run....out of the car! he has nice little test bench

Paul McKibben has a 3.4 block with the cylinders honed and the starter holes drilled, ready for assembly. He'll bring it to the swap meet if you ask him. He wants $150 for it.
