I had the windshield on my yellow Fiero replaced recently. The growing crack in it had grown to over halfway across.
I had Safelite Glass do the job, because they are reputable, and I had them come to my work and do it in the parking lot there.
The first guy that came had trouble right away -- he couldn't figure out how to get the windshield wipers off. He called in for help and still couldn't figure it out. I had never taken them off myself, so I ran in a did a quick search on Pennocks. Found out how in no time, and ran back out and took them off.
Meanwhile, another Safelite van came, with an older guy in it. He said he was their "dinosaur" technician, with experience on older cars, and he knew exactly what to do for a Fiero. He and the younger guy got the windshield replaced in no time after that.
He said he had replaced the BACK window in a Fiero once, and never wanted to go through that again. I guess if something ever happens to my back window, I'll have to replace it myself.
Anyhow, I have a nice clean new windshield now.

There's something to be said about dinosaurs, geezers, old farts, grandpas, and old codgers, and once in awhile it's nice. The young guy was replacing windshields and he didn't know how to remove a wiper? Glad everything came out looking good.

They had to remove the whole wiper, not just the blade, and the new guy didn't know the trick of sticking a nail through the hole to relieve the spring tension. For that matter, I didn't know it either, until I looked it up on Pennock's.
