I can't really say I was part of the cruise, but I did meet up with them. I took some pics, but somehow the pic of the nice Mera was a pic of my thumb, instead. Sad.

Well, here is a pic of the raindrops on the window, but it was supposed to be the Ferarri dash.

Everyone made it, but the '85 Fiero 2m4 did not. Apparently, it just died somewhere around Cuba.

That was my thought, as well, but I didn't ask him. Unusual for me, because I usually ask all those questions.
We did find that his toe is out both front and rear. Not ideal for street driving in the rain.
I'm not sure what is up with those small hood vents, either. Also, the wheels look like they came from an earlier year.
I tried to speak with everyone in the group, but there was so much going on and so little time, I didn't get to speak with them for long.
We had 2.25 hours, including a 15-minute drive, watching a 15-minute video, going through the wax museum, ordering food, eating food, buying tour tickets, etc. There were logistics to be worked out for some issues that arose. It does seem like there would've been more time, but the conversations flowed pretty steadily. Really, the only time to talk was while we were at the restaurant, but we were in groups of 2-4 at different tables.

That's weird. He have had tESp markings if he was competing in an scca event. 3=car number, T=touring category, ES=E-street class, P=prepared.
Oops! Never mind! I found that the fiero is in B class, of race prepared!,
So then 3=car number, T=touring category, BSP=B-street race prepared. So there you have it. He must have had different wheels or enough mods that they threw him in with race prepped vehicles.

He does have odd tires on it. I mentioned the wear on the tires, which is how we discovered the toe issues.

To me, the wheels look like regular 88 lace wheels. The front has no lip and it appears that the back ones do.
The vents on the hood also look like they're just stick-ons and non-functional because they transition across the wall of the front compartment. That would allow rainwater to enter the front storage area.

I'll grant you the vents, and the rear wheels do have a lip. Maybe a repaint on the inserts.
Is it just me, or would stick-on vents on the hood increase drag, and slow your car down? I don't know how that benefits a race car.
Off topic a bit, but I was told that I couldn't race a Fiero with stock GT wheels, unless I removed the plastic inserts. True?

I enlarged the picture 800% and it looks like the center caps are missing, though I'm not sure that it's a requirement for SCCA racing. One of our members used to race his 86 (the bright green gt) and i think he had the center caps in place. Maybe the rules have changed since then.
Those vents probably wouldn't produce any measurable drag. May be just for appearance.

The center caps are there, but are flat black. The lug nut covers are missing, though.
The plastic insert is the lace part. Some wheels, the lace is part of the wheel; others, it appears to be a separate piece.
Decals produce drag.
