Title: Bucket seat hinge protectors
Post by: GTRS Fiero on December 26, 2017, 07:20:04 pm
I got a pair of these (https://www.fierostore.com/Product/Detail.aspx?s=66785) from TFS, but I'm not sure how to install them.

First, though, the texture and gloss level doesn't match the rest of the car, so I'll probably have to do some work.  There is a bit of overflow from the mold, so I'll have to clip and sand that off, then probably re-texturize and paint with a satin finish.

You have to remove the seats to install them.  There's one screw at the lower back that you can't access, otherwise.  There is a small metal loop on the hinge and the little tab on the back of the cover has to slide up into that.  That's the hardest part of installing them, without breaking them.  There isn't much wiggle room to get the tab inserted and the screw holes lined up.

Seats are for another year.  I want to get the engine right, first.
