Here's a copy of a Letter To The Editor I sent regarding our elimination from the July 4th and AuburnFest Car Shows. The editors titled it "Fed up with being treated unfairly at Auburn Car Shows"
At the 2000 AuburnFest, Auburn had its first car show. The show wasn

Interesting.
You're going to love this.
I received the following email from Charlotte Ewing today...

Dear Vendor:
If you attended July 4, 2009, we would love to hear from you.
In order to ensure satisfaction at our festivals, we would like you to take a moment, complete this short survey and return.
Thank you for your cooperation.

My response:
Ms Ewing,
Since you and your cronies saw fit to exclude the Fieros from the car show yet again, I think you have a lot of damned gall to then send me (a member of the Georgia Fiero Club) an email asking me about my "vendor satisfaction".
Please remove my name from any email lists that you may have, and please refrain from contacting me in the future.
I'm done with y'all.
Steve Hamilton

Think I made my (our) point?
Hope I wasn't too rude.
Sort of.

You didn't use enough French words. But that's just my opinion.

I just got this in my email. Send her your opinions.

I just got this from Charlotte:
Dear Fiero Members:
I have received emails from a couple of you pertaining to the Fiero Club being excluded from Auburn events.
Fieros were NEVER excluded from the car shows. There was a mistake on my part once but that was cleared up and some of you actually forgave me and attended that show.
Attached are copies of flyers from October 2008 and July 2009 which includes vehicles from 1988 and older. I purposely set these years so the Fieros would be included in our car shows.
I am truly sorry you received incorrect information pertaining to Auburn

Here is the reply I sent to Ms. Charlotte Ewing, and I BCC'd the newspaper that printed the original article. Ms. Ewing is apparently trying to save her butt. She copied her boss and the mayor on her email, so I also copied them with my email. For those of you that weren't included in the email that TopNotch posted above:
Charlotte:
As you know, the Auburn car shows have always been very special to the Fiero clubs. From the very first time we showed our cars, we were well received by the public. Being eliminated from one of our major events was very disheartening.
In your attached flyer, you show that vehicles up through years 1988 are included. As you said, that was for the sole purpose that Fieros would not be eliminated. I suggest to you that you have altered your attached document prior to this mailing. When visiting the City of Auburn website, where we all got our information, the application form for the July 4, 2009 car show clearly states that "1985 or older" vehicles are allowed.
Just to refresh your memory, here's a cut and paste of the application that I've just pulled from the Car Shows Flyer link on this web page:

They've "fixed" the Auburnfest car show flyer. It says 1988 now, not 1985.

Yeah. She sent me all that stuff too.
Riiiight.
Cry me a river.

In the link that Pat posted, they already had the show on the October calendar and it still said 1985. She just changed it. Ray has talked to a few people from the car shows he's attended and they say they won't go. One guy was at Auburn on the 4th and he said they hardly had any cars there. Only 6 or 7. :(
-
I just had a brain fart. What if we all get together in Auburn that day and find a resturant to eat at then we can line up our Fiero's and drive past the Auburnfest, like maybe 50 Fiero's in line spaced out slightly. It wouldn't matter if they were show cars or not as long as their driveable. I think 2 or 3 passes would be in order. Anybody up for it?
-
I was thinking of something along the same line, except if we could get 20-30 cars to enter and take up all the spaces. Don't preregister so they don't know we're coming and get there real early before any other cars.

I'm in. Let me see what I can get going up here.
