Title: 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT - $1500 (Evans GA.)
Post by: pgackerman on January 10, 2019, 05:57:26 pm

For Sale is one 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. The body on this car is really straight and has no signs of rust. The car is complete with motor and transmission. We do not have the keys so we have no idea of the condition of the motor etc. We bought the car with the property. We do have a clear title for it. $1500.00. A great classic car for restore. Feel free to call me at 706 Four 14-3267.

Anyone know how to hotwire a Fiero?

Hotwiring an '80's car is easy.  Usually, though, the locksmith can make keys for you, from the ignition.  It needs some work before attempting to start it.

I see a short shifter, and something on the left mirror.  Reflector?   Blinker?

I couldn't determine the year on the plate.

It needs a serious hot wash before hot wiring.  Remove the steering wheel, install a new ignition switch tumbler, connect the battery.

That thing's been sitting for a good while.  I couldn't make out the date on the tag decal either and I don't remember what year was red.  Interior hard vinyl looks to be pretty straight with very little separation.  The dash has a crack between the defroster grill and right speaker.  Looks like about 139K miles on the Odometer.  Expect a fuel tank refurbish and fuel pump.

If I hadn't just bought the clubs formula fast back I would be considering the heck out of this.

Once my house in Alaska sells and I can buy down here I worry that the Fieros might start to multiply.....

NoMad,

I can speak with the guy if you'd like and check out the condition of the car.

Evans is very close to me.

Anything specific you want me to look at?

...

I'm happy that you got the "club car". Removes the temptation... (Yeah. I want every one I see. Just don't have the room.)

Thank God those plastic body panels haven't rusted. :D
(I'm sure a good pressure washing will help the car immensely.)

Took a look at this one.  Eventually I'll link some pics.

VIN says it's an '87, even though it's all one color.
Must have been ordered with the wing delete option.

Couldn't get the deck open, but there appears to be a regular 2.8L based on what little I could see from the battery area (cover missing).

The stick is definitely shorter, went from 1st-2nd or 3rd to 4th, but not across.
pedals have been replaced with brushed aluminum (or whatever it is),
taillights are VERY dirty, but appeared to be in good condition,
both sail panels have a crack,
the glove-box (between the seats) has been replaced with something that doesn't open.  Pic later.
Comes with rear-defroster,
coolant reservoir has been disconnected,
one or two very small tears in the body panels.

I've seen worse looking Fieros brought back to life.

When looking up plates, this is what I saw for sticker colors:
2019 - white
2018 - red
2017 - green
2016 - blue
2015 - yellow
2014 - white
2013 - pink
2012 - orange
2011 - blue
2010 - yellow
2009 - green
2008 - white
2007 - pink
2006 - yellow
2005 - white
2004 - yellow
2003 - blue
2002 - pink

It was confusing, because some years seemed to have multiple sticker colors.  These colors may not be accurate.  What color was on your car, last year?

I don't remember what was on mine.  Neither do I remember ever seeing a pink renewal sticker.  I'll guarantee you that car wasn't on the road in 2018.  I think the red decal is a good indication that it wasn't on the road in this century.

So, pink in the list is actually red.

Oh, OK.  I thought you had just copied and pasted a list, but you actually had images.  I can see how some colors don't display accurately on a monitor.

An oddity I noticed is at the right front headlight.  There's a lever vent radiator cap between the headlight and recovery tank.  I'm guessing that's just lying in there and not actually functional.

Yup, it was just laying there.

The owner got the Fiero with the house.  I'm pretty sure he'd take less than asking price.
