It's good to have those screws available, but what causes their loss is still not included. That being the plastic washer that slips on from beneath, keeping the wing screw from falling into yonder-land.
-
Hmmm. Mine screw in firmly, but are not looking their best, anymore.

This washer?

Those are the ones that go between the screw and the vent, not the ones that go under the vent. You can find a suitable substitute for the under the vent washers at any good hardware store.
Speaking of decklid screws, my brother replaced his with these (https://www.amazon.com/Fotasy-QRS-Release-Premier-Cleaning/dp/B00KI3J7G2/ref=asc_df_B00KI3J7G2/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=343234125040&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8256648631647338881&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010780&hvtargid=pla-822900864172&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=68968886317&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=343234125040&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8256648631647338881&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010780&hvtargid=pla-822900864172) (camera tripod screws). They're stainless steel, and look great.

Pat's correct. The factory washer was dished so that the head of the screw set down into it a bit. It went between the screw and the vent flange to protect it from scratches and scrapes. The one that went underneath to keep it on the decklid was a star washer made from plastic. These are spring steel but are very similar in design.

My screws arrived today. Very nice. The set on my Fiero had been looking less than stellar, and I'd been trying to figure out how to restore them, so this was a welcome product.
I actually have a number of NOS decklid vent screws, and they look almost as badly as my used set. These are still in the bag, so so one has touched them. It's just that the black coating is sporadic. No peeling or anything.

I guess I'll have to get some of these, too.

I looked at the decklid vent screws on my Fiero. They screw into a clip that sits on the mount bracket.

As of now, TFS' decklid vent screws come with washers and retainers. I still like my retainers better.

Really? It doesn't say anything about that on their site.
Shows the screws for $7.95 each, washers for $.95 each, and retainers for $2.49 for a pack of nine.

Maybe I'm reading something incorrectly.

Nope. You're right. I didn't see that link. Just the separates.

When I bought my decklid vent screws, I got just the screws. The washers were separate.
