Title: FOR SALE -- Silver Formula
Post by: TopNotch on August 02, 2020, 01:17:18 pm: I have decided that it would be better for someone familiar with Fieros to buy my silver Formula, so I'm offering it for sale here. I would like to get $1000 for it. Here are the details.
It runs and drives just fine, and is reliable, but has these issues.
The AC works, but leaks. I put some of that leak detector stuff in it, and found that it leaks at the compressor where the hoses connect. When I put in a new compressor, it didn't come with new washers, so I re-used the old ones. I'm not sure if it's leaking there, or at one of the pressure switches.
It probably needs a new ignition lock. When you insert either of the keys I have, you have to wiggle the key in order to get it to turn.
The valve stem seals leak, so it blows a puff of smoke at startup. Runs clean after that.
For some reason, starting is harder in hot weather. It takes a bit of cranking. Starts right up in cold weather.
The upper hinge pin on the driver side door may slip down and have to be hammered back up.
All exterior lighting has been replaced with LEDs. If you decide you'd rather have old-fashioned bulbs, please give me the LEDs.
Almost forgot to add -- It was in a minor accident, so there is a bit of rumpled and re-straightened metal under the bumper cover.

Maybe I'll even fill the AC. It ought to be good for a day, anyway.

Now has lots of free time and does freelance repairs and web hosting. Has a 75 el camino since high school, 69 camaro with 572 chevy, a 260z, some sort of 80's Mercedes 4 door and some sort of triumph, oh and an early '50's ugly Plymouth sedan he got for $100. Were gonna cut the roof off and make it a roadster. Daily drives an older G35. Not sure he has room for a fiero but if the bug hits him and the price is right you never know.

So, someone bought it or just plans to buy it? I mean, I wanted to buy it as is, unseen, before it even went to the meet. I feel kinda jaded.

Sorry, the car is sold, and the buyer made his desire to buy it to me before you posted in the Forum.

I had told topnotch I was interested in it in January after he let it be known he would sell it when his 3800 car was sorted. I have reminded him almost monthly at meetings since then that I wanted first crack after family. I just needed to confirm I had a place to keep it beforehand as I will soon be having more vehicles than spots.

I said on the same day, the 7th that I would buy it, the day before the "maybe" was gonna meet about it. I'm sure no one cares at this point, but the facts still remain, I did offer to buy before anyone else fully committed. It is what it is, I'm not part of the clique I understand.
