This came from Jennifer Goss of MAFOA. If you're interested, I'll give you her contact information.
Fiero friends - we have an opportunity to obtain several "new" R-stamped, 2.5L motors. They are 90-92 FWD set-ups but can be brought over to 87-88 Fieros with the use of existing mounts etc. They could be installed in an 85-86 coupe with the use of an 87-88 harness and computer. Contact me if you're interested for price and further info. Only 3 available. I'm posting here prior to posting in larger Fiero groups.

These still available?

I sent her an email. She'll contact you direct.

What can you tell me about these engines? how does it compare to the one in my 88?
-
I know very very little about the 4 cylinders. TopNotch might be the one to answer questions about them.

They will be an easy swap into an 88 Fiero. If they don't come with an intake manifold, there is a chance that your manifold won't fit, but it probably will. They will probably have better breathing heads, and depending on the actual year, may have a timing chain instead of a gear driven cam shaft. Stock HP may be as much as 115 compared to 98 for a stock 88 Fiero duke.

TopNotch beat me to every significant point. And even a few that I wasn't sure about. :D
I'll bet a good cam (similar to what he has in his car) would be worth at least another ten.
If I didn't already have another engine "teed up" to swap into mine, I'd be really interested in one of these.

Thank you. She said it was a total engine and not a long block. So not sure what that means. She said I’d need my original harness and my dog bone mount. So we will see. She thinks it’s the timing chain motor.

If you use one of these engines, I'm interested in the details, for curiosity.

Me too! 😂
Looks like I’m getting at least one more Fiero besides the parts car that’s on its way. Gonna have a used car lot soon. 😂 but at least they will be cool cars.

LOL! I thought you were the one thinking of installing one!

Oh I am... just waiting to figure out how I pick it up. So I’m very curious. 😂

A teleporter?

If it's up around Jennifer's way, it's about an 11 hour trip each way. From my side of town, Winchester, Va. is 9 hours, Carlisle, Pa is 10.

Looks like I’m finding a freight company.
