I'm about to haul the old 2.8 off to the junkyard. Anybody need anything off of it?
-
You ought to save the heads, if they're good.
They can always be rebuilt/ported/modded, if you have a few hundred laying around, burning a hole in your pocket.
They'll bolt on/work with any 60 degree block, other than the latest VVT 3.5 and 3.9s.
They'll also make superb doorstops.
Or scrap everything.
-
Steve, I am not interested in keeping the heads. If anybody does want them let me know before Saturday
-
Is the engine any good? How complete is it? Where is it located?
-
I don't think its any good. Car sat for a long time before I got.
-
Nobody spoke for anything, to the scrapyard it goes

My old 87 engine is still at the shop. It dumped the water into the oil and was driven probably less than 10 miles. We didn't find the cause. It would need a crank kit, cam and bearings, and might need rings. I'd be glad to donate it if you want it. I can muster up most of the stuff that bolts on, too.

if anybody gets that engine, I have a brand new stock camshaft and lifters.
-
When I get to the GT I will need an engine but for now I have too much stuff. 😂
-
Get the topside stuff and buy a 3.4 long block from Summit.
-
Art... you helping with that purchase? 😂 $$$$$
-
He did help...by providing a source. ;D
-
What year and models best to steal a 3.4 from?
-
For the usual upgrade, '93-'95 Camarobird.
The info is in the April 2020 newsletter.
-
So........ yall want parts off of that engine?
