Happy Thanksgiving y'all

Did anyone get the rotisserie option with their Fiero?  Believe a turkey could be roasted right over the engine!  Think this was a one year option along with the pizza oven in '84.

Grease is why Pontiac discontinued the package...

When we lived in New England, we often traveled to the camp in Central Maine.  It was a 5-6 hour drive from Central Massachusetts or Rhode Island where we had lived.  We would often leave immediately after work on Friday and arrive at the camp around 11PM to Midnight.  The camp had to be opened up and linens put on the bed, etc. 

Of course, we and/or the kids were usually hungry at that point.  Cooking something would put us into the morning hours getting into bed.  We had no water and it had to be fetched about 2 miles away at a community spring, so cooking anything was out of the question. 

One of Melanie's brothers came in one night with a bunch of hot dogs wrapped in foil.  Fully cooked and steaming hot.  He had placed them on the engine of his Saab 900 before leaving home.  That almost became a tradition every time we went to the camp.  He even cooked some hamburger patties once.  They weren't nice and brown as if grilled or fried, but they were fully cooked. 

Back in the old days when there was enough room so you could get into the engine bay and work on the engine, cooking a turkey on a long drive might have worked, but with today's engine bay, there's little room to get your hand inside. 

Happy Thanksgiving, all.  My multi-family celebration was last weekend.  Inside.  No masks.  Because it is predicted to be too dangerous to congregate today, we decided to have ours early.  Hope all of you are being safe and having a wonderful day.

Someone made a grille out of a Fiero.  I don't recall where I saw that.  No engine.

My dad used to cook burgers, potatoes, and various things over the exhaust manifolds on our van.

Many years ago I made road kill baskets out of 1/2" screen to fit on exhaust manifold to keep food warm.  We would buy pizza, barby pork or ribs etc., eat what we wanted, wrap the rest in tinfoil and drop in the basket to eat later on in the trip.  I never tried cooking anything but I guess we could have.
