Today we got the security lugnuts off Doug's car. That is the 4th straight 88 I've encountered that had the same pattern security lug.
I think there were two suppliers of these security lugs, and maybe they both were using the same patterns. The tag I have for this particular security key has registration number 3410588. Made by
American Accessories,
Division of Amcor Industries, Inc.
They are now doing business as

I checked my security log nuts. My registration number is entirely different.

I don't need a key, I have a torch 8)
-
But will you travel?
I've seen some torch experts cut a bolt out of a hole, and not damage the threads.
-
Depends on what it pays

Scott, who provided your security lugnuts? I have seen another ID tag that only had a couple of numbers on it like that was the code for the socket key. I'm guessing that this registration number would tell them what socket key was provided.
I'm curious as to whether this one will fit yours, too.

I think you missed the joke Charlie, I don't have any security nuts. I have always thought they were more trouble than they are worth
-
All factory Security lug nuts were supplied by Gorilla. Send then your VIN and $15 and they'll send you a new key.

TheOgre says Amcor/Gorilla never provided security lug nuts. That they provided by another company by the same name. Obviously, he's wrong because this is the 4th car that has used the same Amcor/Gorilla key pattern. He said that what I have with the factory provided serial number decal didn't come from the GM authorized Amcor. I know TheOgre is a very smart man, but in this case I'll have to call him wrong.

I have a key but no security lug nuts. I keep it in the car as it was there when I got it, if it will help anyone its up for grabs. There are no markings on it.
-
They were just black iron impact type sockets. They didn't have any identification on them. They came with a metalized decal that was supposed to be placed somewhere on the car. Possibly on the fenderwall near the RPO decal or somewhere inside the front compartment.
I have matching lugnuts for the socket I have. We can compare a lugnut to your socket to see if they match.

I'm not sure why they kept the key.
