I was watching tennis today and there was a ad for a new movie coming out in the Fast and Furious series......and it showed a clip that had a FIERO with a jet engine connected to it. That is one movie I will have to see.....Should be out later this month 8) 8)

I believe that movie is being screened at Carlisle. Lots of discussion on that, last month.

Here's the trailer...
"Please tell me that's not a rocket engine... strapped to a Pontiac Fiero!"
-
OK, I won't tell you that's a rocket engine strapped to a Fiero. :D If Mythbusters had used that one, they could have skipped across that pond on the first try.
They are looking for someone with a Medium Red coupe or Formula to park in front of the theater at the Carlisle screening.

Fun fact check: Even if the Fiero was filled completely with fuel (the whole car, not just the gas tank), a rocket engine that big would consume it in less than 1 second. Rocket engines are hungry.
-
There was a Chrysler that was powered by a turbine engine. The Chrysler drove normally. Not sure of the difference in fueling.

There's quite a bit of difference in a rocket engine and a gas turbine engine. The rocket engine in that movie trailer is about the size of a SpaceX Merlin 1D engine. The Falcon 9 second stage has one of those engines, and burns 107,500 kg of fuel (consisting of 75,200 kg of LOX and 32,300 kg of kerosene) in about 6 to 8 minutes.

Was watching some facebook videos today and spotted this coupe at the 19:10 mark.
