Title: The 1973 Mid-engine Corvette Concept
Post by: TopNotch on October 24, 2021, 09:18:27 pm
Below are pictures of the 1973 mid-engine Corvette concept. If GM had decided to release a mid-engine Corvette way back in the '70's, I wonder what effect it would have had when Pontiac decided to build the Fiero?

Pontiac would have never been allowed to build the Fiero.

It appears that it doesn't have any tail lights.   Is the other silver one a notchbsck version?

I'm not sure if the Fiero would have made it or not, but if it had, it may have been based on the same platform, but had a smaller engine.
There was an early 70s Corvette clone in Pontiac trim, that had the OHC six. Possibly something along those lines.
I think it was this one.

I think it was an earlier design. One of the concepts had a rotary engine, that was later replaced with a big block. Don't know which one it was, though.
