There are some forecasts for some severe weather tonight with a strong possibility of supercells forming. If you have FRS radios, many of them have a NOAA Weather Band on them. Get those radios charged up and put in your safe zone in the event weather threatens your area. We want each of you to join us for some BBQ at our next meet.
All of you out on the Southwest, West and Northwest side of Atlanta from South I-85 northward, be especially alert. Carrollton suffered damage as did Covington and the Oxford area. Earlier in the week, JayDog had an EF-0 drop in on him in Flowery Branch without warning, taking out a tree at the back of his property. He was standing outside watching and almost got caught. He said he had no warning. Tornadoes often hit at night when we're sleeping and most of us in the suburbs and rural areas don't have early warning sirens within hearing range. We don't always have notice that one is heading for us. We might be that place where they first touch down.

Yeah... those tornadoes caught a lot of people by surprise, including the meteorologists. (The guy on channel five was almost apologetic.)
We were sitting on the porch, watching the sunset - probably about the time that Carrollton and Temple were getting nailed. Never would have guessed it from looking at the sky around us. (We're about 10 miles south of Carrollton, and had no idea.)
Thankfully, it appears that nobody got injured. At least not seriously.
As you said, they're talking about more, overnight.
