Here is a link provided by Frank Martin (Dragon) on PFF regarding the event.

Anybody from our club interested in going? Anne and I have plans to go there; March 30th thru April 1st

There are good odds of Sharon and I being there. It seems to coincide closely with when I will have to bring my grandparents home from Florida this year...so Sharon and I will drive down for Daytona, then Sharon will drive home while I take care of the grandparents.
-
Would be awesome if we drive down together. Are your grandparents close enough for you to stay with them or will you be getting accommodations near the event?
\D
-
They are down in Clewiston (bottom of Lake Okeechobee)...so we would be staying at the hotel. We will likely get there Friday evening (hopefully in time for the go-karts), then leave early enough on Sunday to have dinner with my grandparents.
Yes, it would be fun to drive down together, but my route takes me down I-95...going through Atlanta would add 150 miles to the trip.
-
We were planning on going to Savannah first, so maybe we could meet there?

Frank Martin from Space Coast Fieros provided me with these two links for registration this morning.
The first one is to basically let his club know what you would like to do over the weekend and the costs involved.
The second link is to get you inside the Daytona Speedway, a separte registration system.

We've registered with at least two cars. Anybody else from the club want to join us?
The hotel we booked still has 16 rooms available for that weekend as of today:
Holiday Inn Express
Daytona I-95 & W Speedwy Blvd.
2620 W International Speedway Blvd.
Daytona Beach, FL 32114-1120
Hotel Front Desk: 386-258-6333
$69.00 per room/per night if you give them the "SCF" code.

Kewl, want to convoy?
\D
-
yep, that would be cool @convoy
-
Gwain asked that those who plan to go, to go online and register. Doesn't cost anything and it helps them to determine headcount and make plans for events, etc.
-
yeah i wish i was going but just discovered my car burns/ leaks a good bit of oil so gunna hold off on long trips till i get my swap done.
-
we will be heading down on friday morning from the shop with 3 or 4 cars if anyone wants to meet up with us on the way.
I will have to trailer one down so I will have the truck with tools and such.

OK, now I can say it:
Less than a week to go ;D

Dean & I spoke yesterday and today, so the general consensus is:
All going to Daytona and preferring to drive in a convoy, will meet at the rest-stop on I 75 southbound, just before you reach the Macon By-Pass (I 475) at 8 AM Friday morning.
If you have any questions, send me a PM.

LOL! HAHAHAHA... you gave me the same math at the meeting. Kept looking for threads about the show and was not seeing anything recent. Had a buddy traveling to Daytona last weekend for a show, so i thought nothing of it. Then Dean said this weekend, I was like HUH?!?!? I thought you were there last weekend. The kicker...Last weekend we were 10 minutes from your house buying a couch with a truck and trailer that would have held the doors perfect! UGH! Such is my luck... I just should have called! LOL!
I hope you guys have a safe journey!

Yeah, I'm a dork

Success and disaster in one weekend.
I'll post more later, but for now, just this info:
We started down to Daytona as a nice group; two of Dean's customers, Dean with his truck trailoring an awesome chop-top, Don H. in his grean beast, Anne in her Phoenix and myself in my 85 GT.
Right before the FL border, Anne's fuelpump gave out, so we had it towed to Jennings, FL where it sat until we came back up from FL on Sunday and Dean put it on his trailor and took it to his shop in Woodstock.
Saturday on the track, I was about to set up our banner and parts (Digital EGR adapters) and it started raining and thundering and everyone started heading for the exit tunnel!
All a bit chaotic, as we had to combine the contents of 2 Fiero trunks into 1, and mine never made it to the Pontiac Fiero coral on the track, as we had only registered Anne's Phoenix.
So what was the success you may ask? Well, we made it down there and back up in my 85 GT without issues and man did my little 85 haul! In a way I'm glad I didn't sell it while we were down there, as that would have created more logistical headaches, trying to get back home.
When we had Anne's car towed into Florida, the group went ahead while we waited for the tow-truck. Then we caught up with them while doing 90 - 100 mph on a few isolated patches of I 75 and I 10 and actually passed them while the were getting gas! ;D
On another note, Anne and I both seemed to have gotten a slight tan from walking around down there, and man did we do some walking. The Daytona Speedway is quite big when you have to walk from one side of the Grand Stand and track to the other!
