Title: alternate method to purchase or build aldl data cable!
Post by: f85gtron on April 18, 2015, 05:02:51 pm
In my search for raspberry pi info, i found some posts that spell out an alternate, easier cable to pull aldl data. I did a search for A max232 ttl level usb interface.
Once received, join the tx and rx breakout pins together, that goes to data aldl, and the ground pin goes to the aldl ground. Once the driver is installed in your computer, it will be chatting up your ecm in no time!  WAY EASIER than building a cable!

I've also migrated from the old laptop to my phone!  Check out ALDLDROID on Google play. It's way better and easier than tuner rt pro. It connects much faster and displays data much smoother and displays are fully customizable. Supposedly, it has full chip burning and bin editing capabilities too.
All I need now is a chip burner!......and a guinea pig!

Update:
For the 160 baud ecms, just hook up the rx to serial data aldl terminal "e" and the ground to ground "a". You may have to jump aldl terminals "a" and "b" with a 10k ohm resistor to get data flowing.
For faster baud (7730 and dis duke), rx and tx jumper together into serial data "m" and ground to ground "a".
