Title: New shtuff for sale...
Post by: Tha Driver on May 19, 2017, 06:50:01 am
I have a bunch of recent acquisitions for sale. Here are some of them - I'll list more later. I can take photos to email but it's a PITA. Best to come by & check everything out in person.
1) 4 very good 14" tires on Fiero wheels. 2 Kumho 195/70 R 14s, & 2 BF Goodrich Comp T/A 215/60 R 14s. Have some paint on them so I'll let them go for $125.
2) Modified wing with taller rear lip & adjustable wing stands. $125.
3) Fiberglass sunroofs with dual scoops. Different thicknesses take your pick. $50 each.
4) Smooth molding GT/Aero bumpers & eggcrates. $100 front, $75 rear.
5) Isuzu 5-speed. Known good - $125. - SOLD
6) 4T60 4-speed auto. Not E or HD so no programing needed. Known good - $200.
7) Front GT inner fenders. One has a broken spot but can be fixed. $35.
8) COMPLETE '86 front suspension. Even has the calipers & steering rack. $150.
9) 7" tall solid plastic wing stands. $75.
10) AC lines - whole bunch of them. $75.
11) NOS nose emblem still in the box. Silver lettering says "Fiero" (not GT). $20. - SOLD
12) Fiberglass hood extension. Covers the wipers - inner & outer pieces. $150.
13) Getrag special rebuild tools. Miller 8998 Getrag G2 88. Two carrying cases full of specialized tools. $150.
You can PM me or email me at ImThaDriver at yahoo.
Thanks,

I'm curious about #12.  Do you have a pic?

What year is the 4T60?

Haven't taken any pics yet. I have to re-boot my computer in Windoze (I use Ubuntu instead) to upload them, & that usually takes a while as it always seems to need to search for updates & then install them every time I start it. :(
No Idea what year the 4T60 is.
Swing by & check everything out & check out my projects while you're here. Worth a few "wows" at least... :D

If you want to post the code off the trans, I might be able to decode it. (Year, engine, gear ratio, etc.)

I'm about 8 hours away.  A bit too far for swinging by, or I'd have stopped by to see your Indy.

I took some photos so I'll try to upload them to the computer so I can send them to you. Took one of the tag on the trans too, to send to Raydar.
Thanks,
Paul

That hood extension does sound interesting, I've seen them before but can't recall where.....

There was a pic of something similar on the front of an issue of Fiero Focus.

I'm curious why you can't post from Ubuntu.  It's a fine OS for workstations.  Lots of custom animations, like having closed windows explode or become paper airplanes.  Lots of window control.  Oh, and FTP is great.

All you should need is an application to resize the pictures.  I use 800 for the width, so it doesn't make the text small.

Ah I recall now, that "Cowl Wiper Cover" kit was made by Driven Visions..... I'm interested in it but I just bought my '86 GT today and have to get it running again first! ^,-,^

My Ubuntu install has a problem. I get an error every time I boot, & periodically. I can't download new software.
I have the pics ready to email - where should I send them (you don't have an email shown).
Funny this computer is one of the few factory-built ones I've owned, & it has never run right. Like I said Windoze is constantly updating every time I boot it, or it has problems. Most all my other computers that I've used over the years I built myself, & never had any problems with them until hardware failure.

Ubuntu should be easy to reload.

If you have your email up, I'll just reply to your last email, and you can reply to me.

I think my Ubuntu CD has a problem which kept it from installing properly (or completely). I probably need to download the OS again & try to burn a new CD.
Pics sent to your email of the hood extension & trans tag.

Look at the bottom of the hood in the first photo.

Looks like the code is "BDH".

BFH, BCH, BDH   Buick 3.8 V6 (High Altitude)   A-Body: Oldsmobile, Buick
Differential Ratio: 2.84    Sprocket ratio: 35/35   FDR: 2.84   Converter Code: FL4B   Stall speed: 1895

From: http://www.60degreev6.com/vb5/articles/transmissions-ab/424695-4-speed-transaxle-info/contentpage3

This would be a superb fuel economy trans.

Look at the difference in the distance from the rubber bumper to the rear of the hood, & you'll see the bottom piece that fills that in.
Thanks,
Paul

The table I posted quoted 1986, but I saw a reference to that RPO for several years, more recent than that. Think I saw an '89 or '90.

I thought they were still the 440T4 in '86.

Nope - still have everything.
My mig welder broke so if anyone has one to trade I'm up for offers.

I'd really like to know the year of that transmission.

I thought they were still the 440T4 in '86.

Except for incremental improvements, year-to-year, to help the durability, the 440T4 and the 4T60 were the same trans. Just the nomenclature changed. (Pardon, if that's what you meant.)

Some of the improvements were more than incremental, if I understood correctly.  The last 2 years, apparently things were better.  A small change was made to the housing/case.
