It's that time of year again. The club needs to elect a new board of directors for 2018. If you would like to run, please reply to this thread.
-
I Will Be A Board Member.
-
I'm in.
-
By my math, we're 3 people short, unless others have volunteered via other means.
-
I'll throw my hat in to the ring

We Need More Board Members For 2018
-
Drewbdo? His name came up for 2016, but nothing seemed to come of it.
-
I will be a board member if needed.
-
We need 2 more self-sacrificing members to serve for one year.
-
I`ll be a board member if you don`t mine me missing some meetings.
-
Directors aren't required to make every meeting. Without going back to look at the charter, I think there are only three mandatory board meetings.
Having said that, it is always best that a director attend frequently to be in the loop of things going on.
-
When is the deadline? Or, when are the board members chosen?
-
November 11th. Before The Next Meeting.
-
Michael had said he would be willing to fill in the vacancy we have, so I texted him and asked if he'd consider qualifying for next year. He indicated he would. We haven't heard from Dave, yet.
-
QUALIFYING?! Do you have to run laps? Or do they check if you had dealings with Russia?
-
Background check through GCIC and NCIC (Georgia and National Criminal Information Center) to assure that a candidate has never owned a Mustang.
-
LOL! That'd be a waste of resources. Don't run a check on me.

I have a 1965 Mustang but would be willing to receive lashes if necessary for penance.
It is however in pieces, not running. Like most of my cars now that I think about it.
-
I'm not sure we should exclude Mustang owners. Former regular attendee Tinkerbell had one.

...
I'm not sure that's as much of a stretch as you would think.
We're Fiero owners. We're already perceived as masochists.

When we had a RFTH based in Cherokee, it happened on the same weekend as a Mustang club meet at the hotel next door to our hotel. Nice bunch of people. I thought we were as equally interested in their cars as they were in ours...'The motor's in the back!?'
-
It was all in fun. Nobody is excluded.
As we approach the meeting, any other volunteers?
-
Like grains of sand in an hourglass, time is running out.

Thanks to all those who stepped up and made the offer to serve. Congrats to our new board.
In case I forget, thanks to the board members who are completing their term for 2017.
All of you make this club possible.
Now a question. Are any of the board-elect new to this service in the club, as in first-timers?
-
Mike Mac is.
-
I suspected so. Pretty cool.
-
I would be willing to be a club officer, as long as I can pass the background check.
Dave

I looked at the bylaws, and only found this:
SECTION 5. TIME OF MEETING
The Board shall meet at least two (2) times annually, and at such times as called by the
President, or by three (3) Board members. Notice of each meeting shall be sent to each Board
member in writing at least fourteen (14) days prior to each meeting. The Secretary shall give
notice of each special meeting to each Board member Not less than three (3) days before the
meeting, unless each member shall waive notice before, during, or after the meeting.
I also read that all new board members and officers will begin their duty cycle on Jan 1.
