Title: Speaking of The Devil
Post by: Fierofool on February 12, 2018, 06:14:53 pm
Our daughter just came in to pick up the granddaughter and we were sitting talking.  In the course of the conversation, I asked "Where's the globetrotter, today?" referring to her husband.

In the past few days, he left Lawrenceville, flew to Cartersville, Ga. for a bigger plane, then to Syracuse, then to San Jose, Ca., then to Hawaii, then to Marshall Island and Guam, ending up in the Philippines.  He's on his way back and was in Hawaii, today, following the same return path.  I don't know if he had a patient both ways.

While she was describing his route, I looked at the TV and "Speak of The Devil" there's Tony.  Channel 5, FoxAtlanta was airing a segment about a Miracle Recovery.  The story of a man from West Virginia who suffered a spinal injury while hunting and was being brought to the Shepard Spinal Center.  They were out on the tarmac beside the plane and Tony was bending over, tending to the man on the gurney.

I'd have used a thumbs up or a like, but we don't have those.

That was good.  The man has made a remarkable recovery.  They showed him working out on various exercise equipment and walking.

The last relative I saw on tv was in cuffs, strapped on a gurney.  After a Nascar race at  what was then AIR in Atlanta, he took his Harley out on the track to see how fast it would run, until one of the state troopers chasing him caused him to crash.

What was the problem with running his bike on the track?  I'd have let him go.

After-race activities were still going on.  TV cameras were still rolling.  The crowd was still there.
