As the title says... I'm looking for a medium red (87-88) notchie rear clip, decklid (smooth... no wing. Holes for wing are okay) and tail lights.
Must have decent (but not necessarily perfect) paint.

Anyone?

General Fiero Discussion / New A/C Evaporator Cores are available.
« on: January 10, 2024, 09:42:48 pm »
I have always (well, at least for the past few years) understood that new evaporator cores for our cars were no longer available.
It appears that I was mistaken. Or if not, someone has picked up the torch...

The part number is 3090045.
FleaBay shows them for $290.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/265664217000

Amazon has them for $345.

Edit - Since it's going down to 16 degrees F in west GA next week, I figured this was a timely message.  ::)   ;D

General Fiero Discussion / Vanity plate?

This was posted on Farcebook, a day or so ago.

Gave me an idea for a vanity plate. "NO TESLA".

Mike Valentine (New owner of the Fiero Factory) contacted me and asked if I know of anyone in the area who has a hood, passenger side fender, and a front fascia for an 86 SE. Said he was contacted by someone in our area who is looking. He's in Denver now, so shipping large stuff is not practical.
He's got the guy's contact info.

I suggested that he should register, here. :D

Club News / "403 Forbidden"

I received this message every time I tried to access anything on the site, yesterday.
Was going to add this comment to the "web site status" thread, but that section does not allow comments.

The Market / Inspection plug/dipstick(?) for early Getrag wanted.
« on: March 23, 2023, 06:43:49 pm »
The early (or at least pre-88) Getrag had a screw-in cap in the back/side of the gear case (as opposed to in the side of the differential housing).
The Getrag service manual even shows a dipstick, although I have my questions as to whether it was really a dipstick, or just a plug.

Either way, does anyone have one they can part with?
Thanks!

General Discussion / Don Hulse's wife, Patsy
« on: February 09, 2023, 07:00:14 pm »
All,
I received an email from Preston (Don Hulse's grandson) this evening. He asked me to share that Patsy, Don's wife, passed away on Tuesday 2/7.
Her viewing will be on Friday the 17th from 5pm-8pm at Hightower Funeral Home 12651 Veterans Memorial Highway Douglasville, Ga 30134. He asked me to invite anyone who knew her. Her service will be on Saturday the 18th at noon with lunch following at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 4391 Chapel Hill Road Douglasville, Ga 30135.

The Market / Anyone have a steering column with key?
« on: February 05, 2023, 08:33:56 pm »
Need a non-wobbly tilt/delay wiper column (assuming the switch is in the column.) Prefer manual, but not picky.
I don't recall there being one in the parts barn, but I could be mistaken.

The Market / Looking for an 85 2M6 or SE. Automatic
« on: November 03, 2022, 09:09:56 pm »
I met a guy (actually one of the "old guard" Pennocks members) who has been out of Fieros for a while.
He's now looking for an 85 SE V6, with an automatic.
Told him I would post here, and ask.
He will likely register, in the next few days. "Michael Blue".
Thanks!

General Fiero Discussion / Cruisin' The Coast
« on: October 08, 2022, 09:10:12 pm »
Montegut posted this on Pennocks.
It's already kicked off, this year, so it would appear to be a no-go.
Next year? Anybody?

I just finished replacing the belt on my V6's compressor, tonight. (Note that all I loosened was the bottom bolt. Nothing up top.)
Moving the compressor towards the engine in order to slip the new belt on proved to be not so much trouble.
Getting the compressor to move back out, to take up the slack in the belt, proved to be a whole 'nother story.
Prying against the lug on the compressor, through the holes in the bracket, didn't do much but flex the bracket downward. Couldn't get enough leverage or "purchase" to move the compressor back.
My solution was to fix a small-ish C-clamp to the back edge of the bracket, under the compressor, as close as I could get to the engine block, without the cradle getting in the way.
Once that's tightened, it will provide a flat surface (as opposed to a slanted edge) to pry against, to push the compressor back into place.
Once it's "close", prying against the lug, through the holes, will work.

General Discussion / Suspicious email from "club member"
« on: June 24, 2022, 02:10:59 pm »
Read from bottom up.

From a club member who we haven't seen in a while.
Nothing suspicious about this at all... right? Odd that he/they knew my name, and signed their email as a club member.
Y'all be careful.
