Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Lights-up and chiming
« on: October 19, 2023, 02:40:10 pm »I want to leave my headlights up (and off) for a Trunk-or-Treat event. But the chime keeps warning me my parking lights are on.
How can I turn off this annoying chime? Figure I could either disconnect my battery or remove Fuse 3 - 20 Amp for the "Tail lights, parking and side marker lights". Or is it Fuse 7, warning Chime? Or Fuse 9 warning chime? Or fuse 15 headlight warning?
Anyone know the best way to turn off these chimes?

What is the best (read last expensive) cooling solution?
There do not seem to be any (specifically) Auto A/C repair shops near me.

Then I went to Ft Payne, AL over the weekend where the Mustang decided it needed a new battery. One jump later and a short drive to O'Reilly's and we were back in business. Question is, does anyone have something similar and what do you think of them? Are they worth the Fiero's trunk space?

General Discussion / Ideas for selling/donating my van?

Good morning folks. Looking for ideas to solve a predicament. Our van's transmission went out while we were in Augusta, on our way to Savannah. Had it towed to Milton Rueben Toyota where they rented us a vehicle while they looked at the van. Turns out we'll be $6500 poorer to replace the transmission on a van we only paid $9000 for two years ago. Bye-bye van. Here's the problem.
Eventually (Monday?) we need to return our $60/day rental to the dealership, get the van's title in Rome (in a safety deposit box), and sell the van. The dealer is currently offering $500(!?!) for the van. Any ideas how we can get more, or a better disposal idea?
