As much as I hate to do this I am putting the car I have treasured the past couple years up for sale. It is an 86 SE with the 4 speed muncie and 135,000 miles on the body and less than 1500 on the rebuilt engine. I bought the car and all it needed was a fuel pump, so I replaced the fuel pump and the car ran. But would squeal when going into gear. So I dropped the cradle, and installed a new clutch kit and throughout bearing and the car drove. Soon after I replaced all plugs and wires, remanufactured calipers in the front as well as new pads, and calipers from a member on here, drilled and slotted rotors and new pads on the rear. I replaced the parking brake cable and it is functional. I then got a leak in the radiator and replaced it with an all aluminum one. It has the gt rims with tires that have less than 1000 miles. I installed a grand prix cd player and it is fully functional. It has kyb all around, and the rear struts were made into coilovers by whodeaniei . New sway bar end links, and bushings as well as new outer tie rods all the way around. Installed 7730 ECM and had the chip tuned by Ryan with sinister performance. I drove the car to get an alignment and around town a couple days and got a trueleo intake and went and got it, my valve covers, and thermostat housing all powdercoated red to match. I removed the water lines run to the throttle body, the cold start injector, and egr. Once installing the trueleo the car would not start. I replaces the cap, rotor, icm, the plugs again, and haven't had any luck. One injector was stuck open and flooded the engine but I have replaced it and changed the oil. The car will crank if I put a little oil in the cylinders until the oil is burned out the cylinders and it won't start again unless I do the oil in the cylinders again. Recently the starter bell housing broke off so it now needs a starter. I don't think this is a very extensive job to get this thing on the road, and other than the starter could be free and just involve some labor. I installed a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail to monitor and see if it was leaking or an injector was stuck open. I hate to sell the car, but I need to have the motor in my truck rebuilt before it leaves me stranded, and this is where I'm hoping to get some money to do that. Poor college kid = low money. The thread in my signature is a long 20 pages with lots of pictures and details on everything I did with the car. Interior is ok seats need to be redone both are ripped, headliner board is solid but I removed the material from it. Dash just needs cleaning and has small chip on the driver side corner IIRC shifter surround is warped but solid, center console is just dirty and the bottom tabs are broken. Car has one thin base coat of black, I was in the process of painting and stopped to install truleo intake and never could get it to run so I never finished the paint. Sail panels are glass and are solid. Everything on the car works except fuel gauge. Exhaust is dumped under the air canister. I removed the air box in the fender well and installed an intake tube from the side scoop to the air canister, and dremeled out the little tri piece in the bottom of the can like the part Rodney dickman sells. I can talk all day, and truely love the car, but its just not practical for me at the time. I have to keep my priorities straight. I will try it again when I graduate. I am open to any and all offers best offer takes it. It's hard to put a price on a non running car. My phone # is 912-618-0545 and email is matt_1142009@yahoo.com

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Confused about 7730
« on: February 17, 2011, 09:14:13 am »
OK, so the other day I went to a junkyard and they had a 01227730 ECM and I was going to buy it, but figured I would do some research first. I posted a link in Pennocks, and asked for the advantages of it. The response I got was that it maintains steady idle, and driveability is better. I was told I would get little to no performance gains, but on here Flyboy81 states an increase of 20 hp and oldone reports better gas mileage. Would this be my case as well? I also contemplated just tuning my stock ecm, and lowering my idle with deleting egr if I was going to get it tuned. But as before, I was told there would be little to no performance gains from tuning the stock ecm. Can someone just please explain this a little better?

Thanks,
Matt

I posted this in the Pennocks Fiero Forum mall, but I figured I would post it here considering some of the items would need to be picked up. Here is the link

I sold the trunk seal, but everything else is still available.

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Trueleo Intake Help
« on: November 01, 2010, 10:57:18 pm »
I am thinking about purchasing the Trueleo Intake from someone, so my concern is what do I need to get from them to make the manifold bolt up to my system? Just the manifold? Also he said his is without the EGR, is it good or bad to do an EGR delete? Also, from what I have understood it is better to keep the EGR functional. If so, how would I incorporate it into a Trueleo Intake manifold without the EGR setup on it? Possible?

General Fiero Discussion / New Fiero Owner

Hello Everyone,

My name is Matt and i recently bought a 1986 SE 4-speed that someone let sit for 3 years for $500. They said they put an S&S remanufactured motor in it and drove 500-1000 miles and it got hard to put into gear and they parked it and let it sit and rust. Well when i went to get it, they said the fuel pump was bad, and the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor. Well upon arriving home i kicked the clutch pedal on the floor, and bought a new slave cylinder and installed it. The fuel pump will be in tomorrow morning so i shall have to moment of truth and see if she is going to run and how well she runs. I have been taking many pictures showing my progress and would like to keep everyone up to date as well as get their input.  I have had the car for 1 week tomorrow and I hope "Fifi" will make it through. Well here are a few pics of her.
