When we say Dave probably had it tweaked we're really saying we hope he did.  The only way to know is to go back the same way.  Mike Barr never mentioned any problems.

We did.  They are from a 3800na, late 80's-early 90's.  It has an adjustable regulator to compensate for mods.  Dave probably got everything tweaked for the build so we're going back with the same injector.

The FIC injectors would have been rebuilt, too.  Not new.

I just picked up some throttlebody cleaner and some carb and choke cleaner and see what I can do with the rail.

I vote to go ahead and purchase replacement injectors and to authorize Pat to order them.  There are only 10 left at the $95 price, so we need  to act quickly.

I just found a set of remanufactured, flow matched injectors at US Carburetors for $95 with free shipping and 1 yr.  warranty with receipt.

I contacted FIC about cleaning or replacing the injectors and they said that for 6 and cleaning the cold start injector and rail would run about $210.  The injectors and fuel rail are full of oxidation, possibly from ethanol gas.

Mike determined that the injectors are from the early 90's era 3800 series engines which were in Camaros, Cutlasses, Rivieras, and others.  The car has an adjustable pressure regulator, so we don't know what pressure and flow we have.

20 rooms is a general block, not knowing how many will attend.  Most hotels will honor additional reservations if more rooms are needed.  There are some who come on Saturday morning, make the run then head for home without getting a room.

Great video.  Loved that low level barrel roll pass.

I was doing some bathroom under-sink spring cleaning and found a bottle of No Odor.  Says it's ideal for car interiors.  I used it when Tegan was small and had thrown up in the truck and on her car seat.  Did the trick for us.

The Red Roof Inn property is a smoke--free property.  Pets are welcome, but you must contact the front desk at the number above for arrangements before bringing your pet..  It may be that they use certain rooms for guests with pets.

The hotel is 3 stories, 109 rooms.  All 2nd and 3rd floor rooms have a balcony which doubles as a walkway to all rooms on that floor.  There is an elevator/lift to the upper floors.

There are a number of restaurants and bars close by.  I plan to set up Saturday night dinner at a restaurant about 200 yards away so any who wish to have adult beverages will not need to drive afterwards.

Club Events / Re: May 20 RFTH Trial Run

Every year I try to make the run more interesting and fun than the previous year.  This year is a combination of roads we've used on any of 4 or 5 other runs, plus some new ones thrown into the mix.  The final 20 miles to our Saturday hotel is all 4-lane, but most "Old Men" will need that unwind time after nearly 230 miles of lefts, rights, ups, downs and 180's.

As to my driving style---I wouldn't have driven so fast if we hadn't hooked up with that BMW Road Rally Group.  When they pulled off, many of them waved to as we passed on by.  I think they now know that the Pontiac Fiero isn't just a has-been economy car.  And Scott in his 86 and Paul in his Sky Redline were right behind me.  Paul said he hadn't puckered that much since he rode motorcycles.  As Dave and I were returning home, one of the BMW group passed us by, waving.  How about that for recognition?

Yes, the word Maniac did come up.  I think Dave used it a couple of times to describe a van that we got into a chase with.  He was cutting the corner on every curve, whether the oncoming lane was visible, or not.  Swinging wide fully into the left lane as he approached blind right corners.

Dave and I were a little ahead of Scott and we hit the rain just inside Georgia.  But as Scott said, prior to that, it was a wonderfully sunny day on the road with some wonderful people.

Air filter canister, maybe?  Left front corner of the engine bay.

We need a filter canister for a V6.  Anyone have one to donate or sell?

What was on the cover? I get Summit catalogs regularly.

I don't remember.  It was open on the coffee table and I thumbed through it but didn't look at the cover.  He just got it within the past 2 or 3 weeks.

I'll give them a call next week.
