I don't need anything (other than some obscure interior pieces that I posted in another thread.)
I'll throw in the fronts, or the entire set, if they'll be of use. They're not of any use to me.
Don't have the time or the space to do the work, just now, however.

Paul, I can't see your car as a daily driver with those springs on it. You saw the way Ron got beaten up driving it down to the cul-de-sac and back!  You have no choice but to get them, install them, then get another fiero to daily drive. Leave the red one in the garage.....only take it to shows.....

Steve, if you can get the springs to linda lane, we can set up another day to work on the car. I will have to see what the board of directors want to do with the other set of springs at the next meeting.

Ron... can you PM me the house address? I've been there exactly once. Thought I had it written down, but it might just be in my Garmin somewhere. Or not.
I can take them by there, no problem. Is there usually somebody there?
Or I can bring them to the next meeting.

Thought a list of stuff that still needs to be done should be compiled.  Feel free to add more items.
  • Replace springs and/or tires
  • Driver's door handle has a spring(?) hanging down.  Doesn't give me the warm fuzzies regarding its longevity
  • One of the backup lights is out
  • Paint
  • Re-install wipers
  • Re-install molding around wipers
  • Temp gauge never moved during the short drive
  • Clean interior door panels
  • Wasn't there something about the oil sender???

Anything else?

The oil sender needs removed, threads chased clean and straight, then reinstalled.
A hub centric ring needs ordered and installed for one of the wheels.

The oil pressure sender needs to be removed and installed without cross-threading.  Also, a big goop of dielectric grease needs to be put into the top of the sender, just for extra security against water shorting it.

I spoke with the lady in Augusta, last week and the Marine candidate is still available.  The lady at MAACO doesn't answer or return my calls after the initial contact, so I take that as a rejection to cosponsoring the project.  We may just have to give it to him without painting.

Can we schedule another work day for May 23 and plan to do the springs on that day?  Ron said he had a pair of spring compressors to make the job easier and so we don't have to go rent a pair.

10.  Purchase and install new wiper blades
11.  Allow engine to run long enough to activate cooling fan and temp gauge.  Purchase new temp sending unit if necessary.
12.  Change oil.  I believe we have oil in the big tote full of supplies in Ron's garage.  I brought a filter last time.
13.  Clean engine and front compartments then treat with CD2 Engine Detailer for a good clean appearance.
14.  I have purchased a full set of new hub centric rings.  Install 1 on the left front and place the other 3 in the vehicle.

Would you mind if Paul and I try to source a paint job in Augusta?  We might have better luck because the fort has a larger impact per capita possibly than Atlanta?

Don't use ANY Armorall, silicone, or any detailer anywhere NEAR the car until after it's painted. Im' not familiar with the CD2, but I bet it's silicone based. Nothing worse than having new paint fisheye 'cause of detailing before painting.

15. How are we getting the car to Augusta considering its lack of tags???
15b. How is the car given to the vet considering the lack of tags, insurance, registration, etc?

Oh, I'm out on the 23rd, and the next week too, even if Ron volunteers me.  ;D

If you can get it painted in Augusta, tell me when you want it to be there.

15.  U-Haul won't rent a tow dolly to be towed with my truck, but if Pat would rent one for his F150, I'll tow the car with my truck.

15b.  The vet has a truck that needs major repair (transmission).  Registering the car with new title would cost no more than $75.  He should be able to afford that, from what I know about him.

CD2 Engine Detailer isn't silicone based, but you still have a good point.

Hope we get the chance to hold you to that!  :)

16.  Check the gas pedal.  It may be fine, but it felt funky when I sat in the car.

When do you need the dolly.

We'll have to wait for Paul and Ron to see if they can arrange it.  As soon as it's set up, we can grab a dolly.  It will probably require a 2 day rental so I can get over to get the car, then take it to Augusta the next day.

Because it sits so low, I'll have to tow it with the front wheels up.  We had that problem bringing it back from Tennessee.  Even after we got it on the dolly, the nose was against the front of it.
