Automobile Casting Call
« on: March 09, 2017, 08:34:47 am »
We received this email on the club email address.  Thinking about it.  Anyone else interested?

Quote:

Hello

Darius Washington here with Cornerstone Media Productions.

We are shooting a feature film "THE APPEAL" here in Newnan GA June 2017, and would like to inquire about using classic cars on set. Figured we'd reach out to some car clubs in the area to see who would be interested. (Paid opportunities for the drivers btw)

The film is set in 1988 Coweta County, so of course we are looking for several cars ranging from the years 1980 - 1990 to  stage as community citizens (riding around, parked at facilities, etc)

As well as two (2) cars from the 60s for the flashback scenes.

If you can help, please let us know or point us in the right direction. If you could send this email out to your member databases. Whoever may be interested can reach out directly at cornerstoneprods1@gmail.com. Again these are paid opportunities.

Thanks

What year is your body style?.  Remember, they skipped a Testarossa across a pond in a 1980's setting movie.  Is the color rue to year?

I submitted my 87, so we'll see what happens.  Maybe I can get enough to pay for a new paint job.  Pat, what was the pay when your 86SE was in the movies?

It was only a few hundred bucks, but also a new windshield (they had to take mine out for the shoot), and a very nice beemer to drive around while they had my car.

What movie was your car in?
"The Change-up" (2011), only for an interior shot. The external shots were with a red Formula. My car at the time was a red 86 SE.

They have accepted my car pending signed agreements.

Do they want just the car, or car and driver?

From the way he worded it, they also want the driver for some drive-thru scenes.  The car will also be used in some parking scenes.  He says I can choose morning 4 hours or evening 4 hours shooting.  Just waiting on the contract to see what it entails.

He replied to my email. He said they could probably use my car for 1 daytime scene, and 1-2 night time shots.

He said:

Because of the color, it would stand out, so we couldn't use it in more than one daytime shot, because the audience would notice the recycling of cars.

I'm not sure why he thinks it would stand out...  ??? ;D
