John Watson, AD355 Builder

Some of you are familiar with and have met John Watson of Tenga, Ga.  Some of us have visited him where he made the body panels for the best fit and finish Ferrari 355 rebody, according to Kit Car Magazine.

John had a small non-imposing shop that was almost straddling the Tennessee-Georgia state lines, on US Hwy 411.  This location is where the town name of Tenga came from.

Most of his work was done by himself with occasional help from his wife or an employee.  All hand laid fiberglass.  John didn't build turnkey cars, but just the rebody kits, in either convertible or coupe form, designed to mount onto the Fiero chassis.  It could be for a stock chassis or a stretch chassis.  Several former club members owned AD355's and they were beautiful.

I was doing some searching for him and ran across this news item.  I didn't know of this, but I'm glad that he has come through the ordeal.

There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers
