Brake switch confusion
« on: December 13, 2018, 09:09:14 am »
There is a brake switch on the proportioning valve, and behind the brake pedal.  That's great.  The one behind the brake pedal is for disabling the cruise.  Also great, except non-cruise Fieros have a special switch here.

Why are there 2 brake switches?

The switch on the proportioning valve is for the brake warning light.  If you run out of fluid or have a brake failure, the piston will move far enough that a plunger on the bottom drops into a notch in the piston and will turn the switch on, illuminating the brake light.
