Re: Weather Looks Good For Saturday's Fun Run

I'll be there is spirit, Saturday.  Have to work, but maybe, just maybe, you guys will feel my prescence!

Also, I want to take a moment to thank Charlie for helping me the other night.  Hey, all I did was call with a question, he gave me an answer, then I found a problem, he said "come on over."  Wow, that was great!  Also, Rob for the timing adjustment the other day!

Now, I believe I have a broken front engine mount or tranny mount.  I am missing the front engine "shock," but I believe the slight missing feeling, asfter I get to speed, is the motor moving.  I discovered that tonight while loosing a Honda, whatever that sports car is.  The faster I went, I believe I felt the motor lift, then when at speed and easing off the gas, I felt it give and take a little, as usual.  So Charlie, that might be the problem.  Rob, need to get with you in the next couple of weeks, up at your place.

Well, have fun and enjoy the run.  Take plenty of pictures and please post them!

    Later,

    Conrad in Loganville

Saturday's Fun Run - Route Map & Info

    Hey folks!

To make this easier.... if you forget to check email. Charlies files are available right here for download and printing. Use these handy links below to download the Fiero - Solstice - Sky Fun Run Details and print!

    Download Map

    Download Route Sheet

Also here is the email info from Charlie:

Please print these files and bring them along.  I will not bring copies.  Also, bring FRS radios if you have them.  We usually use channel 7, subset 0 for communications as we travel.  Helps with breakdowns and police.  And the chatter just adds to the excitement.

As a reminder, we will be meeting at the McDonalds at the intersection of Georgia Highway 400 and 53 in Dawsonville.  Due to the number of cars, get your food and drink if you want, then move over to the shopping center parking lot next to the bank.  Be there by 8 with a full tank of fuel.  I'll go over the route and answer questions around 8:30 and we'll try to pull out and head up Ga. 400 toward Dahlonega by 9AM.  I'll try to break down the group into Wild, Agressive, and Tourist.  If you'd like to lead one of these groups, let me know at the meeting.

Please review the map and text prior to Saturday.  I think the only place anyone might take a wrong turn is north of Turtletown where 68 splits left.  The tendency is to follow Hwy 123.  The other place is after we leave Tellico Plains, turning left on Hwy 39.  Shortly, 39 will take a right turn across a stream.  It's poorly marked, but if you miss the turn, you'll see a sign for Hwy 310.  Turn around.

The restaurant has been informed we are coming, and each person will be able to order from the regular menu.  Individual checks for each party.

I think this is going to be an enjoyable weekend for everyone.  140 HP Fieros tangling with 260 HP Solstices and Skys.

I will be filming this from an in-car camera.  It will be in VHS format.  Copies are usually sold for $10.  If we can get it converted to DVD, the price is also $10.

Re: Saturday's Fun Run - Route Map & Info

    Hello Fiero Club,

I'm Kim president of the Ga. Kappa Club. I hope you don't mind me posting on your forum but I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much we are looking forward to meeting you guys this weekend. We were very disappointed about the St. Pats Parade and now everyone is itching to get going on this one. I've seen a few mention that it's Easter weekend and yes that is causing some of our people to back out as well. We are still at 18 Sols and Skys and like Charlie posted we have one each from Kentucky and North Carolina and a couple of people coming from Alabama. Everyone is staying at my house tomorrow night so we'll have the Solstice Urban Campground going on here. We are having a little mini get-together tomorrow (Friday) at the Irish Bred Pub on 155 in McDonough if anyone is on the southside and wants to kick the run off early with us. It'll be an early evening arriving at 7 and leaving around 10.

    Looking forward to meeting everyone,

    Kim aka Jr.

Re: Saturday's Fun Run - Route Map & Info

    Kim,

We are all revved up and have been ready and looking forward to this run with your club for a long time too and we hope it is the beginning of many more!

The weather should be just perfect...sweatshirt in the AM and we should all get gas on the way or as close as possible so we don't create a long line of Pontiacs and Saturn's at the pumps...although that would be something in itself now wouldn't it!

I think we're still at 2 from the East Tennessee Fiero Club. Sorry, but that's the best I could do.

Re: Saturday's Fun Run - Route Map & Info

If this was made a little later in the day. I would go. I just can't get to Dawsonville that early.

Considering that its daylight until 7 now, I don't see why we can't start runs a little later, like around 10?

Re: Saturday's Fun Run - Route Map & Info

I'm leaving here at 5:00 am and driving over 100 miles. But since their starting it so early I can atleast get back home before dark. So will a lot of other people coming in from other states. If they waited until 10:00 to start I'd probably go to sleep on the way home. You only have to drive what 50 miles? Go to bed at 11 and get up at 6, thats 7 hours sleep.

I normally go to sleep at 5am not wake up then. Even if I wanted to I couldn't sleep before about 2am, because my roommates and other people living in my building are too loud for me to sleep.

I'd have more luck just staying up all night and driving up there. But there's no way I could drive all day after having an all-nighter.

Re: Saturday's Fun Run - Route Map & Info

Good idea.  I wouldn't mind sleeping until 7, myself.  Nathan, quick, send the Peach State KappaClub an email and get them to notify all their members, including the ones from North Carolina, Alabama and Kentucky that they don't need to be here until mid day tomorrow.  Soon as you get an answer, let us know what they say here on this forum so we all know what time to show up.

At the same time, contact Road Atlanta and get them to reschedule the Walter Mitty until the next weekend.  I've got something I need to do on the weekend they're planning to hold it.

    I love you guys!

You boys have a great and safe time tomorrow.  I don't care what time it starts, if I did not have to work, I would be there.

Well, Buddy kept me up until 1:00 last night but I'm up at 4 and getting ready to go. See you soon. Gary's sick, he won't be there.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to hang out either. I have a project going on that the weather last week put me behind on, and have to finish it. I don't know if ya'll are going to meet for dinneand drinks afterwards, but let me know. I should be done working early in the afternoon. Scott

Re: Saturday's Fun Run - Route Map & Info

Don't see anything to say that we're gonna start later, so I guess I'll get the 85 in gear and head out.  Nathan, if you want, you can leave Marietta around 11, come up I-75, then take US 411 North and meet us in Etowah, Tennessee between 12 Noon and 1PM.  See y'all there.
