Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

Lol!  Hey, I was just finishing my reservation with "Expedia.com" when Johnnie came through and said, "you know, it would be kind of fun to go up there," so ........................................................................
I added another person to my "way bill."  The only problem is that she will not be able to leave from Snelville until noon, so I will try to catch you guys in Clayton, if that's ok. If not, we will see you there.  I had to book a room at the Econo Riverside, so hopefully that won't be too far away.

Well, at least it is finalized.  Is there anyone I can buy some shirts and hats from?  I'll go back and check the Home page, but just wondered if that person mught be close enough to just drive to and pick them up, the shirts and hats, that is.

    Thanks,

    Conrad in Loganville

Anyone want to follow the Triumphs and Porsche to Fontana and the village on June 22nd?
George with GTA does a nice job on rally's and stuff, as I am sure you guys do.  I am just new to this group.  Oh, and Johnnie will fit in, so don't try to be all proper and such! :  )

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

It'd be hard to catch us.  We'll have 1 1/2 to 2 hours on you, plus the distance from Snellville to Gainesville.  There's a McDonald's in Clayton, and also in Cherokee that we could stop at on the way.  Quick food, without a lot of hassle.  Also it would be good that we all refuel in Clayton.

Were all the rooms booked at the National Parks Lodge?  I don't know where the Econo is located, but the river runs right behind the show, so it might not be far away.  Of course, the river also runs down the back side of town, too.

What kind of hats and shirts are you looking for?  We have a member here in Auburn that makes embroidered Fiero hats and jackets, and shirts.

June 22 is on Friday.  Is that correct?  I was planning a little day fun drive on the 16th of June if there's enough interest.

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

Fiero hats and shirts sound good to me.  A number or an email?

Wish I could do June 16, but have to work so I can go the 1st and the 22.   Johnnie said she might be able to leave from Snelville a little earlier, so I will be waiting there and zip when she heads out the door.  If we catch you, great.  If not, no problem.

We get a nice rate with the Econo Lodge due to work connections that I did not even realize I had, also the Marriott.

    Thanks,

    Conrad in Loganville

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

    JUST A REMINDER:

We'll be meeting up at the QT on Hwy 53, Mundy Mill Road, at I-985 near Gainesville.  It's the Oakwood Exit.  The QT is just up the hill from I-985 when you exit.

We should pull out between 10 and 10:30 after we all tank up there.

We can refill in Clayton, Ga. at the RaceTrac as the last cheap gas, then go on to Cherokee where there's a nice buffet.  We can eat there, and let Conrad and Johnnie catch up to us, then all drive on to Pigeon Forge.

Ronnie, are you and Carolyn planning to link up with us along the way?

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

We've decided to take the motorhome up and camp instead of staying at the Hotel. So ya'll will most likely be out ahead of us. We can't leave til noonish anyway. We're gonna be camping just a little past the Hotel up towards Sevierville. We'll come by the Hotel later after we get set up.

Everyone remember to bring your FRS radios and a folding easy chair.  Channel 7 seems to be the channel of choice for the radios.

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

We will be leaving at that time.  Where are you heading out from?  We are coming from 124 to 985, maybe through Auburn or so.
anyway, here is the cp again
    404-625-0732

Looking forward to it.  The flowmaster series 80 is in, but haven't heard it yet.  The mechanic says it sounds great.  They are working on a couple of other things, then I pick her up today.

    See you guys there.

I have to remember to get Charlies cp number for the trip!

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

Just a quick update on the weekend's happenings:

There were a total of 12 Fieros entered in the show.  Mike Barr broke down about 40 miles before getting there and didn't make it in time to enter.

David & Karen Brophy and Darrel and Janice of the ETFC stopped to assist Mike, and didn't make it in time to enter.

Bob Manwaring brought his spotless 88, but didn't enter.
    Jack Cooke took 1st place
Pat Swayne and Gary Murray tied 2nd Place
    Don Hulse took 3rd.
Pat Swayne won the half and half pot.  I'll be contacting him soon to pick my Mega Bucks numbers.
Conrad and Johnnie Cheney broke down on the way home and had to take a ride on a flat bed to get in.  Conrad will be replacing an alternator in the next couple of days.

Thanks to Ron Rizzi for heading up this event.  You put it all together.  Hope you are well.  Thanks to all who entered.  You made a good showing for the Georgia Fiero Club and the East Tennessee Fiero Club.  This was a great weekend with everyone.

And they FINALLY put a Fiero on the event Tshirt.

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

Johnnie and I had a blast!  It was great meeting everyone.  Our car ran great until we got within 32 miles of home, then the alternator gave up the ghost.  Hey, no problem.  We had our "show chairs" with us, called AAA, set up the chairs and slept on the front porch of a Chiropractors office (closed) for 4.5 hours until the tow vehicle got there.  It was well worth it, and probably allowed us to get some rest!  5 people stopped to get directions and 2 stopped to look at the car.  Hey, I ordered the part from Advanced Auto, thanks to Charile's help, and we just missed getting the part today so I could replace it and contiue.

Don. thanks for the tech advise and the call to Ashley.  Going to pick up some parts tomorrow, after I repair a locomotive at work.  I think it is the front trans-axle mount.

One final question: Gary's graphics, are they from Southern Exposure?  I could not find the link or site.  I have to strike while the iron is hot.  Johnnie is saying we need this and that, and that is good!

Thanks again to all.  We look forward to the next gathering.

Hope everyone made it home safe and sound,

    Conrad in Loganville

Congrats to all the winners too.

Conrad , Paul McKibben is a member of our club who has the "Fierosails" business. He can make up most any decal you want . He has the hood decals already .

Hey, that sounds good to me!  You know how I feel about the car. I just need to convince Johnnie.  I ordered a 110 Powermaster alternator, dipped in chrome.  Maybe she will see the good package deal on your offer!  Throw in a beer or a segrams and it might just work!

Great meeting you guys too!  Lets get together again soon.

    Take care,

Re: Seventh Annual Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge

Thanks Gary.  I have been in contact with them and they are getting everything ready.  We are going to try something a little different, so they are going to send me a picture of it first.  This gives me a good excuse to get a new wind-shield.

Anyway, thanks.  I will get with the headliner guy in Cartersville next week.
