Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge -- Need Help!

Some time ago I was asked by Joe Blackburn, one of the guys who run the Pontiacs at Pigeon Forge car show, to provide some volunteers to help with the show. Those who volunteered would receive free registration for thier car, and a free event t-shirt. At one time I had  5 or 6 volunteers. Recently,  Joe asked  me confirm the volunteers, because the time for the show is approaching fast. The only ones I can confirm at this time are myself and my wife. Everyone else seems to have dropped out. I don't even know what I am going to say to Joe.
If you are going to Pigeon Forge with your car, and would like to be a volunteer, please email me at me(at)patswayne(dot)com ASAP. The show is the first weekend in June (June 6-8). For more info, click here. Thanks.

yea joe sent me a email asking for help this year but i dont want to be sitting at the gate or collecting money or cooking hot dogs i'd rather sit with my car and talk to folks, if i enter mine this year.. he also ask me for a count of cars we have comeing this year.. have you got a number to tell him? i know me rob and conrad will be there but as for the ga club member i have no idea. if ross gets his new 86gt finished in time he wants to take it so thats only 4 cars for us.. who all plans on going?

He told me the volungteers would help judge the cars. He didn't mention any of those things.

in that cause i'll be a judge so my car will winBig Smile [:D]   i dont think that will work real good,,haveing a car entered in the show and being a judge....dont think folks will like that alot, and dont seem to fair to me. i understand they need help with the show but asking people to enter a car then judge it..naaaa not for me..if they want to judge cars then they should'nt enter their own car,, thats just my 2 cents worth. but could really care less,,, just doesnt seem like fair play to me and im sure im not the only one to think that way but i dont play fair anywayBig Smile [:D]

Re: Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge -- opted out

Well, it's official. The club has "opted out" of helping at Pigeon Forge. Joe said he needed confirmation of helpers now, and I said I couldn't provide it. I explained to him that many club members were saving up for the 25th anniversary in Michigan, and were cutting back on other trips. He said he understood, and would welcome any of us as participants at the show.

Yes, Johnnie and I will be going.  If they trash the Porsche, I will put a GM V* in it and take it also.  Hey, look:
    Porsche
    Pontiac

Same number of letters.  Gary, got any extra Pontiac heralds for my Porsche!? rob, I'll let you put that 3.8 in it, that will work!

Anyway, give me the name of the hotel and I will make a reservation.

Re: Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge -- opted out

I don't think anyone went.  I've asked some of the members if they knew of anyone, and they didn't.  Certainly, gas prices had a lot to do with it.  Just this morning, in about 3 hours, gas prices here in town jumped from $3.91 to $3.99 a gallon.
