    Re: RFTH Hotel info

Ron and I will be doing a documentation and trial run for this year's Run For The Hills.  For anyone not going to the 25th Anniversary of the Fiero, you are welcome to join us.  We will be starting from the Days Inn on US 441 in Clayton, Ga. at 9AM on July 26.

The Days Inn is on the right at the next traffic light north of the McDonalds restaurant.  You can gas up at the Race Track station, then it's just 1 block up to the Days Inn.  Out of Atlanta, just follow I-85 to I-985.  Take I-985 and it merges to US 441.

I-575 also brings you directly to the hotel, though it changes numbers severeal times, and eventually becomes US 76, somewhere around Blue Ridge or Hiawassee.  US 76 also comes in from Clemson, SC.

If you plan to come along, let us know in this forum.  It's not being offered on the other forums.

    Re: RFTH Hotel info

Planning on the 26th, as mentioned, Charlie.  I will need to use the 85, however, if it is ready.  The white 88 is Johnnie's baby, and she wants that for her 30th reunion stuff that day, while I come drive with you guys.  Will plan on 1/2 the run, so I can get back for the reunion stuff.

    Re: RFTH Hotel info

The July 26th is just a one day thing.  It's to document the run for mileage, landmarks, time, etc., so we can make a route sheet for the RFTH in September.

Just a bump and a reminder.  I've got Kevin, Mike Byrd, Conrad, me, maybe Peter,  and maybe Old One.  Anyone else, or Peter and Dewey want to confirm?

You'll have to call Conrad about the trial run, his computer got hit by lightning today along with a few appliances, outlets, and more.

Conrad just called and the lightning got all the appliances and the satilite system, the A/C unit that was 2 years old, everything that was pluged up got hit and will have to be replaced. The insurance company is moving them into a motel room until they get the house and wiring and appliances replaced.

    Re: RFTH Hotel info

Charlie, I just talked to Conrad and he's not going to be able to make it. He's having to replace and repair everything in his house. He has to pay a high deductable before the insurance will help. He said he stayed home instead of going to a motel and used a window a/c unit until they fixed the central today.

    Re: RFTH Hotel info

Did the documentation run today and it looks like around 125-135 miles, depending upon whose speedometer reading is used.  Should be able to get back in time for anyone to do a little sightseeing of the area waterfalls, if they so desire.

Just one month left to get your tshirts.  Hurry!

As a side note, gasoline prices at the hotel was $3.88, and in North Carolina, over $4.00.  At one point along the route in South Carolina, the price was $3.57

    Re: RFTH Hotel info

A reminder to everyone.  You only have 2 weeks left before I place orders for tshirts.  I'm holding all orders until Sept. 1, then I'll send them to the printers.  There will be no tshirts available for sale at The Run.

Local gas prices have dropped from $3.87 to $3.64.  I'm assuming prices in the area of the run have dropped accordingly, meaning that the 1 station in South Carolina should be in the $3.30's.
