Did you do transmission swaps on both of them? 85 GT's came with 4-speeds.

Both of these were mine.  The one on the left is my original 85GT.  IFIRC, it has over 300,000 miles on it.  Untouched engine except for oil pump and timing chain.  I had that one converted to an 5-speed back around '96.  Sold it to Robbie 2-3 years ago.

I've got to go out and check my registrtion to see if the one on the right is still mine.  Just picked it up this afternoon after Robbie installed a 5-speed in it.  That's the one with 87,000 miles.  I had bought a 4-speed that was supposed to be an Econo Box, but wasn't and I got stuck with it, so I had to get another trans.  This trans dropped my RPM from 3000 to 2300 at 65MPH.
