    Auburnfest October 18,2008

They didn't change the restriction from 1985 to 1988 for the Auburnfest. So it remains that only 1985 and older cars and trucks will be judged even if you show your 86, 87, or 88.

So....after thinking about the current situation with the Auburnfest only allowing 85 and older cars to be judged, I've decided not to attend this year. I will drive my car down and go to the Auburnfest but not enter my car in any way. The Fiero Clubs have always been the one's with the most cars so if we don't show up then they'll only have 2 or 3 cars to show. I think this will spark a change in their decision to exclude us in the future. If you agree or disagree let me know what you think. Our cars are Classic's and should be included in all shows. And that's my thought's and I'm sticking to them 100%.

I believe they've already made an exception for Fieros of any year.

    Re: Auburnfest October 18,2008

Prior to the July 4th car show, I spoke with Charlotte and The Mayor, Linda Blechinger about the exclusion, especially because the Georgia Fiero Club had been the only club to show cars for the past 7 years, even though they were titling the show "First Annual July 4rh Car Show".  I don't know what happened to the first 7 shows.  I suggested that they make it restricted to cars 20 years and older, and Charlotte said they would.  But the flyers and the city website still said 85 and older.  I think this unfairly restricted some good cars of all makes in the 86-88 year range, and I believe that any cars newer than 86 may not have been included when the ballots were tallied.

I have sent Charlotte another email about this exclusion, but I seriously doubt anything will change.

See that's what I'm talking about. We are invited to bring all years but only the 84's and 85's will be judged. And if they do include all years in the Fiero's and one of the 88's wins a trophy, then they can't announce it cause they restricted all the other makes of car and trucks to 85 and older. If they call an 88 Fiero up for a trophy and somebody catches the fact that it's newer than an 85 then they'll have to disqualify the car. They can't say only 85 and order unless it's a Fiero. They need to change the registration form to read 88's and older instead of 85's and older to make it fair.
