Retired Bellsouth Engineer.  Presently Director of Communications for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad.

I own a 1986 Fiero SE, which I purchased from a man who had it sitting in his front yard for the past 2 years.  He wanted $1000.00 and I talked him down to $800.00.

Since I bought the car, I have had the A/C compressor replaced, new brakes all around, new plugs and wires, left headlight motor rebuilt, new clutch, pressure plate  and throw-out bearing, had the transmission (4-speed) re-built, new tires all around, the driver's side seat re-done, and finally a paint job.  All in all, I guess I have about $2500 tied up in the car now.

It is a daily driver, and the A/C works wonderfully.  Hopefully over the next few months I can get the suspension upgraded with new shocks and struts, and I hope to get the radio sub-woofer installed and working.  The AM/FM cassette radio works well, and is capable of receiving AM Stereo, which really surprised me. As a note, there aren't many AM stations left which transmit in AM Stereo, but for the few that still remain, I am a faithful listener.
