Question about "Full Bore Ahead!" from the Newsletter.  What is the performance benefit from this service other than more air will be available for the engine?  Are we talking 1 HP, 2 HP, 5 HP?

Full Bore Ahead!
Steve Monroe offers a throttle body re-bore service. This increases the throttle body bore 4mm,
from 52mm to 56mm. As part of this service, the
throttle body will be cleaned and painted with ceramic high-temp paint; new felts will be installed,
and the throttle plate will be replaced.
This service is a flat $150, including return shipping. Our Canadian neighbors will need to add
$40 for shipping. Send your throttle body with
check or money order and mailing address to:

I don't have numbers on that.  My gut says that, unless you have the Dawg mod, and have done port and polish of the entire intake, ported the exhaust logs, and removed the restriction in the Yzpipe, little to no benefit.

That having been stated, I have this mod, supposedly.  I have the other mods, also.  When the engine work was done, I provided such a throttle body, which was supposed to have been put on.  Of course, the adjustsble FPR, high-volume FP, and other items were also provided, and not only not used, but vanished.  My Fiero goes.

And hey, someone reads the newsletter!  That article was a space-filler tucked in there.  I had written the article, and put it there, but hadn't planned to use it in that newsletter.  Nothing else came up to fill the spot, so it stayed.

What did you think of the prior article?

Living with a Fiero
Enthusiast?

I enjoyed it.  My wife does a lot of give and take too.

Good.  I found it a surprising--but ultimately satisfying--read.  I'm sure Christine would appreciate feedback from any other readers, as well.

I'm sure your wife does provide feedback.  I had suspected as much, on certain Appreciation articles.

I think most of our spouses support us.  They just don't participate because we just fail to invite them before we go out the door to a meeting or ask them to come and give a little assist like handing a screwdriver or wrench when we're tinkering.

Melanie supported me and really enjoyed the Fiero until her health issues prohibited extended rides.  She even drove our first one for many years, sometimes preferring to drive it to work rather than her new Grand Am.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Likely, if some ladies attend meetings, more ladies will attend meetings.  TAD's wife has attended.  Most of the ladies would likely enjoy each other's company.

GrannyLinda nearly always attended.

Just as I would rather not quilt, or sew, or collect American Girl dolls and Cabbage Patch babies, my wife is happy to let me play while doing her own hobbies.

Additionally, I've taken her to Jo Ann's, the AG store (when there was one in Georgia) and to Babyland General in Cleveland, GA.
Likewise, she's played navigator, photographer, and helped me work on my car.

There's give and support.  We both know the other will help out, but neither will ever become more than barely appreciative of the other's hobbies.

I understand that.  Some time ago, my wife told me that, if I joined a local club, she would run for office in the club.  That was a surprise.

My wife is frustrated with my current time committments, but generally allows me my interests.  I allow her her interests.

Thanks for the cover! Very cool!

My wife? She has her interests. I have mine.

"I want a new puppy."
"I want a new car. Go for it." :D

We joke about it, but both of us do what we do. Neither of us really mind about the other, as long as there's room, and funds.
(I almost bought a Formula this weekend. Decided I needed to let it go. Maybe in a few weeks.)

Thanks for the pics.  I needed a recognizable GFC Fiero, with side scoops.  Wha-la!

BTW, small Easter Egg.  There was a temporary cover image.  You can still see it.

The May/June issue of Fiero Focus has an article on tools to keep in your Fiero.  I seem to recall such an article appearing in another newsletter, some months back.  Anyway, it was interesting to see the approach, and the tools chosen.  I'm not sure I would trade anything in my kit, though.
