Our Club was formed on a sunny Sunday afternoon in 1997. The September 21 st gathering was attended by a handful of enthusiasts in Stone Mountain Park . Our founder Ramon Otero with a few other Fiero owners envisioned a Club that would. foster a continuing presence of America ’s first mid-engine sports car. This loosely gathering of enthusiast soon grew to an organized association of dedicated members. Since its formation our Club has grown into a non-profit organization that frequently donates significant funds to local charities and non-profit organizations. Our Clubs most outstanding organized event is its annual “Run For The Hills” weekend held each September. The event started in Helen , Georgia with a small group of enthusiasts in 1995. Since then has grown and attracts participants from many parts of the southeastern United States and as far away as Australia . Beginning with a small group coming together for a brief Sunday afternoon road trip in the hills, it has became an event that indorses a thrilling drove through the hills of northern Georgia, southern South Carolina and eastern Tennessee. For the first few years the event was sponsored and hosted between two Clubs. In the early 2000’s our Club became its sole sponsor and host. Each year the number of participants has grown. Our most recent event was attended by more than 50 happy Fiero owners and enthusiasts. Another soon to because an annual event for the club is it’s participation in the local World of Wheels Autorama. The national event returned to Atlanta in 2006 after a 10 year absence. The clubs first entrance of five Fiero participants won awards of recognition ranging from Outstanding to Best of Class. Our Club is not only a place to meet and drive a vehicle that indorses fun and excitement. Our Club is a place for enthusiast to gather information on the maintenance, insight and history of a vehicle that has captured a select few throughout the years. We meet on the second Saturday of each month, sponsor two annual events and participant to more than eight yearly local, state and regional events. We aim at the exposure of a vehicle born for “excitement” We are continuing to keep our Club in the public eye, expose a vehicle born for “excitement”, and to maintain our original purpose, concept and vision. We strongly believe in our slogan “We Drive Excitement”. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Fiero Club meets the second Saturday of every month at 1:30 P.M. - GALAXY DINER / 3320 HENDERSON MILL RD, ATLANTA, GA 30341 / Phone: (770) 723-9555 |
