WTB: Window crank retainer clip
« on: April 19, 2020, 10:12:23 am »
While taking one of my doors apart, the spring-like clip in the window handle jumped away and for life of me I cannot find it.I was thinking about drilling and cutting threads in the center of the drive and running a screw through the handle to fasten it that way but decided against it.So, does anybody have any of the retainer clips, or perhaps even complete handles with the clips, I'll take them off your hands.  :D
Thnx,
\D

In theory, the handles are available from auto parts stores.

There are also a bunch on ebay.  Be aware that there is a bracket you'll need to unscrew and transfer from your current handle.

Summit Racing has them. I don't know how much they charge to ship to Germany, though.

It will cost your inheritance if you ship via USPS from Auburn, Ga.  I shipped to Don and asked for Parcel Post.  When I got home and looked at the receipt, she had sent it Priority Mail Express which is supposed to be guaranteed fastest delivery.  A week later, it's still sitting in New Jersey.  Postage was more than twice the cost of the parts.

Don, I have a few door handles.  I'll see if they have clips and send you one.  Do you have a birthday or anniversary or the like coming up?  I'll tape inside a card.  Can't be more than $50 postage.  :D

How about our 31st wedding anniversary (last month)? Will that do?  ;D

Well, Don, while searching for my box of window handles, I found 4 armrest screws.  But I never found my box of window handles, so there are no clips.  I'll order these and send them over in a few days.

Don, did you ever get your clips and the other parts?  Last I checked, the other parts were in customs.

Even the larger clips looked smaller than what I remember.  Did they work?

I'll absorb part of the shipping costs due to not being more diligent.  Take Anne out for a couple of good German beers.  I'll send you an email.
