Linda's son suffered a stroke
« on: April 11, 2012, 10:03:24 am »
Linda's son, Jonathon Jenkins, suffered a stroke yesterday. Please remember him and Linda in your prayers.
Jonathon is in Gwinnett Medical Center. The stroke affected his speech center, and, as of last night, he was having trouble speaking and recognizing words. But by the time we left, he had already started to improve a little.
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

Sounds like they got him to treatment pretty quickly.  That's the key to a good recovery.  I've told Melanie and we'll add him to our prayers.  Speedy Recovery, Jonathan.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I just got back from the hospital.
Jon is doing much better.
He is able to talk better, but he still has a problem comprehending what he hears and reads.
He will need out-patient speech therapy.
We have to talk to him very slowly and use small words.

Jon is coming home today.
He has no Paralysis.
Only a few speech and comprehension problems.
These will be fixed with speech therapy.
He is expected to make a complete recovery if he stays on his new diet.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts.

It was great to meet Jon today! I'm happy that he came to the meeting.
He seems none the worse for his experience.
