General Fiero Discussion / Need hoist or cherry picker help.
« on: August 16, 2024, 04:33:58 pm »
I have an engine and cradle assembly that I will need to transfer from my trailer to another trailer. I need help detaching the Getrag before transferring. Can anyone help?

Transfer will probably take place in September but the transmission needs to be removed prior.

General Fiero Discussion / New man at the July Club Meeting
« on: August 06, 2024, 09:47:10 am »
Does anyone have any contact information for the new man who came to the July club meeting?  I cannot find anything in any of my correspondence.  He was in need of a sunroof wind deflector and a recall crankcase recirculation tube.  Have him email me at georgiafieroclub@gmail.com

I have a 1987 2.8 manual setup with everything including the cradle and wiring harness, but less the transmission.  This is a running dropout from an engine swap.

I will have pictures available as soon as I pick it up.  106K miles.  The water pump weeps a little when sitting overnight but wasn't a factor in removing the engine.  Taking offers.

Located about half way between Atlanta and Athens, Georgia.  Possible delivery for an extra charge if you have facilities to offload from my trailer.

The Market / 1984 SE For Sale
« on: August 06, 2024, 09:09:02 am »
Fowler's Auto Parts in Dacula is going out of business.  Mr. Fowler has fallen into ill health and all cars in the yard are being crushed.

There is a white 1984 SE 4-speed in the yard.  Luggage rack deck lid.  It's complete.  I believe they said it was just around 100,000 miles +/-.  Fowlers is about 1 mile off Ga, 316 at the Kilcrease Road Exit.  Give them a call if interested.  770) 963-3620

General Discussion / What I Did This Weekend
« on: July 24, 2024, 08:18:21 am »
I had the opportunity to spend the weekend with my kids.  It's been a while due to work schedules and family matters that I've been able to do this.  Here are a few highlights.

Our hotel, looking down at the bar and dining area.

Our reserved seating for Saturday and Sunday.  About 20 feet from the track and about 200 feet from our parking space.
This was the beginning of the first lap on Saturday.  Big pileup at turn three.

I believe this was the winner of the Sunday race.  There was another pileup in this white flag lap, so I don't know for sure.

My kids.

Happy Me.

General Discussion / Club Member Ron Robinson In Accident
« on: July 16, 2024, 08:55:02 am »
I just picked this up from Susan Robinson's Facebook Page.

Monday, July 15, Ron was in an accident.  Quote from Susan's post:

Yesterday evening he was riding his ZRX1100 to a local pet store and had a car turn left on top of him
He suffered three broken ribs, a partial lung collapse and his entire right side is bruised and has some swelling on his right leg.  He was transferred to the Trauma part of Huntsville Hospital and will be here possibly all week.

End quote.

Ron and Susan, my prayers go out for both of you.

Club News / ONLINE CALLED BUSINESS MEETING
« on: May 14, 2024, 09:02:05 pm »
This thread will be open to replies until 12-Noon, Saturday, May 18, 2024.  Only paid members' responses will be tabulated.

The location of the Car Show and Cookout is Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community 4355 Georgetown Square, Dunwoody, GA 30338

There is a proposal to donate $1000 to the Dunwoody Senior Center when we attend the Car Show and Cookout in June.  Because there weren't enough officers present at the May 11 we need to do it this way.  A quorum of Ron Robinson, Jason McCall, and myself have discussed and agreed to hold the meeting in this manner.

There will be a restriction on what the Senior Center can use the donation for.  It isn't to go into their general fund, but is to be used for such items such as:
-A framed commemorative (triangle) flag for their Veterans Wall,
-Uno Cards
-Mexican Train Dominoes
-Foldable Poker Table or tabletop for the men
-Giant or regular Jenga
-Raised garden beds (high enough for residents to stand or sit in wheelchairs)
-Pedometers for walking club residents (30)
-Old school digital radio for billiards room
-Medium sized canvases for painting classes
-Nail supplies and polishes of manicures done weekly by me for residents who can't afford to pay for this service
and number of other items are suggested.
(Note:  By Me means Ms. Cudger, who is the activities director)

They will be required to provide receipts for all purchases so we know how the donation is spent.  Those receipts will be open records for any paid member to view.

With that said, I make a motion that we donate $1000 to the Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community.  Do I have a Second on the motion?

By The Way, this is also a Father's Day Event to honor the Fathers, as well as the Veterans, including Father and Veteran car show participants.
