Windshield markings
« on: December 30, 2019, 09:31:34 pm »
For those people who tint their windshield, or put decals at the top, there are legal ways to do this.  The rest is illegal.  A few inches from the top of your windshield, on at least 1 side, there is a cryptic alphanumeric code, with a line below it.  Above this line is the tint/decal area; anything below that line is illegal.

I'm not sure all police know this.  In Georgia, the law is that nothing is to be placed on the windshield that isn't government issued.  Some things are overlooked like parking permits, but if a LEO wants to give you a hassle, he can write a citation.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

So our Fieros are breaking the law with their GFC stickers?

Yes, if the LEO wants to be a donkey.

I was thinking of items that went across the windshield.  There is a spot in the lower corners that seems to be OK.  I'm not sure about the sides.
