I've tried everywhere I can find online but no one is buying the cats. One place said they would buy them if I had a receipt for the new one I replaced it with. I have several off of parts cars I need to sell...

« on: January 29, 2024, 06:31:20 pm »
Yep, things have gone from bad to worse. Anyone have a good head for the '84 Duke? a bare head would be fine, but it would be nice to have a good complete one.

The Market / Looking for an engine swap? Have I got an engine swap for you!
« on: December 18, 2023, 05:02:59 am »
Pontiac Vibe I4 - which I'm told is one of the bullet-proof Toyota engines. Professionally rebuilt by a reputable race shop, with forged pistons & rods, 8.5:1 compression ratio. Mated to a six speed trans with new clutch components. Shifter modified to work the six speed with cables. Turbocharged, with large intercooler. Mounted to an early cradle with urethane cradle mounts. Axles made & installed, hub to hub. Test fit into a Fiero. Never started. $4,000 invested. Come pick it up for $2500.

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Bent pushrod in Duke
« on: December 07, 2023, 04:30:52 pm »
Hooooboy. So I started tuning up my '84 & replacing the valve cover gasket, only to find a bent pushrod. The valve is stuck - I tapped it down (didn't take much) with a hammer & it stayed down. Other than pulling the head, any suggestions? Anyone have a pushrod?
TIA,
Paul

As the subject suggests, I have these parts for sale - prices reduced. Electric mirrors - $50 each or $85 pair - several to choose from. Complete '88 headlight systems $100 - 3 to choose from. Great for converting earlier headlights to something that actually works. Assorted wheels with or without good tires - prices will vary but will be well below cost/market value.
Lots of other parts also available.

General Discussion / Any insurance agents out there?
« on: February 04, 2023, 01:46:19 pm »
Sooooo.... I'm paying over $65 a month for a car I drive about 30 miles a month (yes "Tha Driver" doesn't get to drive much anymore). Is there anyone that can write me a policy with limited mileage to save me money? Not State Farm or Allstate please...
Thanks,

The Market / I'm going to sell the Indy
« on: July 08, 2022, 01:35:44 pm »
It's parade lap car #36. I have the original tag receipt from Indiana - 1984 tag #36 - which makes it a DOCUMENTED parade lap car.  It MAY be the only one left of the 150 that were on the track at the 1984 Indy 500 that is DOCUMENTED, although there are "rumors" that two other's are out there (see PFF for two posts on that - search for my user name & documented parade lap cars) .
It's running & driving, but has the usual belt squeal on startup ever since I replaced the alternator (I'll go into detail on that if you're interested).
Grundy didn't have any problem insuring it for $17,000. I'm not going to list any price & I'll explain why on the phone.
Still suffering from Shingles & can't work much (also why this listing is so short) so I need the money to hire some help.

The Market / complete Fiero 2.8 V6, & built Vibe 4 cyl. for sale
« on: April 03, 2018, 12:02:37 am »
I just got a good running complete 2.8 V6 with 80,000 - 85,000 miles. Intake & valve covers are painted a nice blue. Comes with flywheel/clutch, alternator, AC compressor, full exhaust system, & '86 cradle if you want it. Previous owner took it out to do a V8 swap. I'll take $400 OBO.
Also, got a Pontiac Vibe (toyota) 1.8 liter 4 cyl. - completely rebuilt at a race shop with 8.5 to 1 forged pistons, turbo charged, huge intercooler, mated to a six-speed trans, shifter & cables,  new axles, mounted on '86 cradle. Over 4 grand invested, never been started - make offer. (might put this in my custom car).

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / LED taillight bulbs
« on: October 21, 2017, 01:27:27 am »
So... the Mera taillights tend to melt with the stock bulbs. What's it take to convert to LEDs - anyone have a source for quality ones & the electronic flashers?

They have about an inch of delam at the top, otherwise very good condition. They do have a little red paint on the black edge but that can be re-painted. I can't post photos from this computer but I can email them to someone - if you can post them for me that would be great.
Best offer over $600.
